In a printing system capable of supplying a sheet of a job having undergone print processing by the printing unit of a printing apparatus to a post-processing unit capable of executing at least a specific type of post-processing among a plurality of types of post-processes, when the target job requires the specific type of post-processing, the printing apparatus is inhibited from executing print processing of the job without explicitly determining a sheet necessary for the print processing of the job by a user using a user interface unit. When the target job does not require the specific type of post-processing, the printing apparatus is permitted to execute print processing of the job without explicitly determining a sheet necessary for the print processing of the job by the user using the user interface unit.

A supporting program according to aspects of the present disclosures can be executed by a CPU of a PC and corresponds to a printer connected to the PC. When the PC receives a print instruction to cause the printer to perform printing through a general-use printing program implemented in the OS of the PC, in advance, the supporting program causes the PC to output a preceding operation command to cause the printer to perform a preceding operation before starting printing. The printer performs a preceding operation corresponding to the preceding operation command

A recording apparatus includes: a recording unit that performs recording on a medium; a medium discharging section that discharges the medium on which recording has been performed; a medium receiving section that receives the medium discharged by the medium discharging section; a face-down discharge path that guides, to the medium discharge section, the recorded medium with a recorded side thereof facing downward; a document movement path that is provided at an upper part of a housing constituting an outer casing of the recording apparatus and along which a document moves; and a reading unit provided in the document movement path to read the document. An automatic document feeder, which is included in an image reading device and an image forming apparatus, includes first and second document trays, a document output tray, a document conveying passage, multiple document conveying bodies, a drive source, a detector, and a controller. The multiple document conveying bodies include a document holding and conveying body to convey and hold the original document sheet on the second document tray. On detection of the original document sheet on the second document tray while conveying a different original document sheet from the first document tray, the controller stops feeding the different original document sheet, causes the different original document sheet downstream from the document holding and conveying body in a document conveying direction to be conveyed to the document output tray, and stops the drive source after the different original document has been conveyed to the document output tray.

An information processing apparatus capable of communicating with an image forming apparatus that performs printing using a sheet set in a feeding unit includes a controller serving as a processor that executes a program or a circuit that is equipped with functions, the controller being configured to function as a unit that causes a display device to display a screen in which a plurality of objects corresponding to a plurality of pieces of attribute information is arranged, a unit that sets, in the screen, attribute information corresponding to a sheet set in the feeding unit, a unit that updates, according to setting of the attribute information, count information associated with the set attribute information, and a unit that determines an arrangement of the plurality of objects in the screen based on the count information.

A printing apparatus has first and second sheet storage units, where a second sheet conveyance path is longer than a first sheet conveyance path, and includes a determining unit and a permitting unit. When a sheet stored in the first sheet storage unit is for printing of a Nth page included in a first job and a sheet stored in the second sheet storage unit is for printing of a N+1th page included in the same first job, the determining unit determines a feeding schedule in which the N+1th page sheet feeding is initiated before the Nth page sheet feeding is initiated. When an issued instruction is issued to perform a second job by interrupting the first job after determining the feeding schedule, the permitting unit permits printing of a page included in the second job before the printing of the N+1th page included in the first job.
