The edges extending along the sub-scanning direction are located in a central area of a photoelectric conversion element row of a sensor assembly in the main scanning direction. The sensor assembly scans the rectangular hole and detects a edge extending along the main scanning direction and a edge extending along the sub-scanning direction, thereby determines a scanning start position.

An object of the present disclosure is to present a document placement position more simply. A program for causing a computer of an information processing apparatus that causes an image processing apparatus to perform document scan processing to function as: a creation unit configured to create, based on first information relating to a document table of the image processing apparatus, second information indicating a position of a scan origin on the document table, and third information indicating a document size designated by a user, a GUI screen including information for guiding a position at which the document is placed on the document table; and a display control unit configured to cause a display unit to display the created GUI screen.

An image reading apparatus including a reading unit comprising a photodetector configured to read an image information on a sheet, and a projecting portion, a case storing the photodetector therein, the case comprising a transparent portion configured to transmit light to be received by the photodetector, and a portion defining an opening through which the projecting portion is projected outward from the case, and an elastic portion provided to fill a space where the projecting portion is not present in the opening. The case movably stores the photodetector within a range where the projecting portion is movable in the opening.

An image scanning apparatus includes an image sensor to scan a manuscript, a transfer apparatus to pick up the manuscript and move the manuscript to a manuscript transfer path, and a loading apparatus to load the manuscript scanned by the image sensor. The loading apparatus includes a discharge tray to hold a discharged manuscript and a guide member to have one end rotatably disposed on the manuscript above an upper part of the discharge tray at an angle formed relative to the discharge tray based on a type of the manuscript.

An image recording apparatus includes a feed tray, a feed mechanism feeding a sheet-shaped medium accommodated in the feed tray, and a recording device recording an image on the sheet-shaped medium fed by the feed mechanism. An image reading apparatus includes a first holding member that is provided with a first holding surface opposed to a placement surface, a second holding member that is provided with a second holding surface opposed to the placement surface, a guide member that is disposed on a front side of the first holding member and the second holding member, and an imaging unit that capture a medium placed on the placement surface, wherein the guide member is provided with a guide surface coupled to the first holding surface and the second holding surface and is disposed such that a distance from the placement surface to a first portion of the guide surface is smaller than a distance from the placement surface to a second portion of the guide surface disposed closer to the front side than the first portion.
