An image reading apparatus includes a light-guide member that moves in a direction crossing a longitudinal direction of the light-guide member and that emits light, which has entered from an incident surface of the light-guide member, as light that is linearly distributed in the longitudinal direction, a light source that emits the light, and an optical fiber that guides the light emitted by the light source to the incident surface.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body including an image forming portion configured to form an image on a sheet, a rotating unit disposed above the apparatus body and rotatably supported around a first rotary shaft with respect to the apparatus body, and a cover portion rotatably supported around a second rotary shaft extending in parallel to the first rotary shaft with respect to the apparatus body. The rotating unit and the cover portion are opened from a front side of the image forming apparatus to a rear side of the image forming apparatus. The second rotary shaft is disposed on the rear side of the first rotary shaft.

A reading apparatus that performs colorimetry for an image on a sheet, includes a conveyor that conveys the sheet along a conveyance path; a first guide member that includes a reference surface arranged to face the conveyance path and to oppose the sheet and provided with an opening, and, guides the sheet; a first opposite member that urges the sheet toward the reference surface, and, brings the sheet in contact with the reference surface; a colorimetry unit that is disposed at a side opposite to the conveyance path so as to sandwich the first guide member, and, performs colorimetry for the image through the opening; and a processor that controls the conveyor and the first opposite member so as to convey the sheet in a state of being brought in contact with the reference surface, before the colorimetry unit performs colorimetry for the image.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body including an image forming portion configured to form an image on a sheet, a rotating unit disposed above the apparatus body and rotatably supported around a first rotary shaft with respect to the apparatus body, and a cover portion rotatably supported around a second rotary shaft extending in parallel to the first rotary shaft with respect to the apparatus body. An apparatus and method for thermal imaging of an interior space of a high temperature furnace through an opening in a wall of the furnace. An outer housing houses at least a portion of a rigid borescope. The outer housing has a port for aspirating ambient air through the outer housing to cool the rigid borescope and passing the air through a hole at the end of the outer housing and into the furnace. A camera is operatively connected to a rigid borescope but is located such that it is isolated from the air passing through the outer housing.

An imaging unit includes an image pickup element extending along a surface parallel to an imaging surface, a circuit board including a circuit to drive the image pickup element, and a plurality of fixing members to fix the image pickup element and the circuit board. The circuit board includes at least one through hole on a straight line that extends in a longitudinal direction of the image pickup element and is provided with the plurality of the fixing members. The through hole is provided at a position between at least two of the plurality of the fixing members on the straight line.
