When executed by the computer, the plurality of instructions cause the information processing apparatus to execute a scan control using the first route in which a read result of a document by the scanner is obtained by using the first route after receiving an execution instruction for scanning, determine whether the scan control using the first route has failed or not, and execute a scan control using the second route in which the read result of the document by the scanner is obtained by using the second route when it is determined that the scan control using the first route has failed.

An image scanning apparatus is configured to transmit original document image data by storing, sequentially in a buffer, line data obtained by line-by-line scanning of an original document and transmitting the stored line data to a host computer sequentially line by line, and includes a control unit configured to perform control to transmit original document image data including notification image data to the host computer in a case where it is detected that the apparatus status of the image scanning apparatus is not normal during processing executed in response to a scan command received from the host computer, the notification image data being a notification of an error occurrence.

Provided is a technique for allowing a user to easily check the status of an image scanning apparatus. An image scanning apparatus is configured to transmit original document image data by storing, sequentially in a buffer, line data obtained by line-by-line scanning of an original document and transmitting the stored line data to a host computer sequentially line by line, and includes a control unit configured to perform control to transmit original document image data including notification image data to the host computer in a case where it is detected that the apparatus status of the image scanning apparatus is not normal during processing executed in response to a scan command received from the host computer, the notification image data being a notification of an error occurrence.

An image forming apparatus includes: a display portion; an error sensor that detects an operating error; a recovery sensor that detects the recovery from an operating error; and a display processor that makes the display portion display a notice of an operating error when the error sensor detects the operating error and that makes the display portion display an operation guide for preventing the reoccurrence of the same operating error when the recovery sensor detects the recovery from the operating error.

An image processing apparatus including a display unit includes a processor and a memory storing instructions, when executed by the processor, causing the image processing apparatus to function as a detection unit that detects occurrence of a sheet jammed inside the image processing apparatus and a display control unit that displays a screen based on detection of the occurrence of the jammed sheet. The screen includes a first region for displaying work that a user carries out to remove jammed sheets from inside the image processing apparatus and a second region for displaying work that the user carries out after removing the jammed sheets from inside the image processing apparatus.
