A diagnostic system may comprise an image forming apparatus that forms a diagnostic image on a sheet and an image capturing apparatus that captures an image of the sheet on which the diagnostic image is formed and which has been discharged from the image forming apparatus, and outputs the image captured as a sheet image. An image processing apparatus includes: a first hardware processor that sets cooperative processing including first processing and second processing that cooperate with each other in a server that provides a service that determines the cooperative processing; a second hardware processor that receives a command to execute the first processing; a third hardware processor that generates alternative processing in place of the first processing in a case where it is detected that the command cannot be received after the cooperative processing has been set; and a fourth hardware processor that executes the alternative processing.

A technique for saving a setting of a transmission job as a setting history for a call function as needed by a user when an information processing apparatus such as an image processing apparatus (MFP) has executed the transmission job is provided. Upon executing a transmission job received from a mobile device, the MFP determines in accordance with an instruction by a user as to whether to save a setting of the transmission job as a setting history (transmission history) for a call function that reuses a setting of a job executed in the past to execute a job. For a setting of a transmission job for which it is determined not to save as a setting history for the call function, the MFP prohibits saving as a setting history.

If an operation of canceling a predetermined state includes an operation of powering off the device, even if communication between the device and the information processing apparatus becomes inexecutable after the screen for cancelling the predetermined state is displayed, the information processing apparatus does not execute a notification corresponding to a state in which the communication is inexecutable. If the operation of canceling the predetermined state does not include the operation of powering off the device, the information processing apparatus executes, based on a fact that the communication between the device and the information processing apparatus becomes inexecutable after the screen for cancelling the predetermined state is displayed, the notification corresponding to the state in which the communication is inexecutable.

A multifunction peripheral (100) is connected to a terminal device (200) via a communication link, receives image data transmitted from the terminal device (200) and forms an image based on the image data. Further, the multifunction peripheral (100) detects the state of connection of the communication link and thereby detects whether or not communication with the terminal device (200) is interrupted. If interruption of communication is detected while image data transmitted from the terminal device is being received, the multifunction peripheral suspends the unfinished state of reception of image data.

A data storage includes data specifying a default image printer and default print settings for digital images. An image capture operation triggers a prompt for expedited image rendering in accordance with preset default settings. Input responsive to the prompt selects for immediate commencement of a print operation for a captured image in accordance with default settings. Image capture and communication can be accomplished with wearable digital eyewear working in concert with an associated, portable data device such as a smartphone. Captured images may be queued in a user device when a data path to the printer is unavailable.
