An image forming apparatus operable by an operation device includes a storage that stores a plurality of operations, a detector that detects an operation, and a controller. The controller registers a terminal as the operation device if an operation detected by the detector conforms with an operation stored in the storage.

An information processing apparatus operating as a virtual network computing (VNC) server includes a memory and at least one processor in communication with the memory, wherein the at least one processor of the information processing apparatus is configured to perform, in a case where a request for a VNC connection is received from a second VNC client in a state in which the information processing apparatus is connected with a first VNC client using VNC, first connection control to maintain the connection with the first VNC client and not to establish a VNC connection with the second VNC client, or second connection control to cut off the connection with the first VNC client and to establish the VNC connection with the second VNC client.

An instruction to execute a job which reads an original, generates image data of the original, and sends the image data to a user-specified destination, is received from a user. An information processing apparatus generates a command for executing the job and sends the command to the image processing apparatus. The image processing apparatus executes the job based on the command. When sending of the image data to the user-specified destination is unsuccessful, the image processing apparatus sends the image data to the information processing apparatus. In accordance with an instruction received from the user, the information processing apparatus sends the image data to the user-specified destination.

An information processing apparatus includes: a communicator to communicate with a terminal device; and a controller to control the communicator, wherein the controller transmits an acquisition request for address book information to the terminal device via the communicator, and the controller performs control to retransmit the acquisition request when the address book information cannot be obtained in response to the acquisition request and a given time period does not elapse since transmission of the acquisition request is initiated.

The service provision process includes: (a) registering a user in association with contract identification information associated with individual information of a first printing device; and (b) when the first printing device is replaced with a second printing device and the provision of the service is continued utilizing the second printing device, associating individual information of the second printing device with the contract identification information associated with the user registered in the (a) registering.

An apparatus includes circuitry to receive an input of problem information that is information on a problem, transmit the problem information to an information processing apparatus communicably connected to the apparatus via a network, and receive, from the information processing apparatus, troubleshooting information corresponding to the problem information. The troubleshooting information is information for solving the problem. A camera has two or more color elements that are removable and replaceable. The color elements may include a lens, a color filter with a filter data interface, and an image sensor. A security processor includes a private key, firmware, and has storage room for one or more vegetation indices. The security processor securely decrypts, stores, and uses the indices. Firmware checks license terms and installed filters required in a selected index, and analyzes images based on a formula in the index, thresholds for the index value, and thresholds for an object's height above ground level. A positioning receiver (e.g. GPS) determines time and position, which the firmware uses for the license check and for the height AGL calculation. Differences in camera position allow determining a parallax calculation on correlated groups of pixels. The camera provides on-the-fly analysis, and tags and stores images for which alert conditions are met.
