ENHANCEMENTS FOR WARNING/ALERT SYSTEM NOTIFICATION WITH WAKE UP SIGNAL
A method may include monitoring, by a user equipment, a first wake up signal prior to a paging occasion during a discontinuous reception cycle. The method may also include decoding a physical down-link control channel based on the paging occasion in response to detecting the first wake up signal. The method may also include determining that the decoding failed. The method may further include switching to a common paging occasion to decode the physical downlink control channel after determining that the decoding failed.
POWER SAVINGS FOR VOICE SERVICES
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE). The UE starts a first timer (such as a discontinuous reception (DRX) hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) round-trip-time (RTT) timer), after sending an uplink (UL) data transmission to a network entity. The UE then starts a second timer (such as a DRX retransmission timer) when the first timer expires. The UE then determines whether to wake up or sleep for a duration of the second timer based on a prior block error rate (BLER).
NETWORK ASSISTANCE TO RESOLVE WAKE-UP SIGNAL CONFLICTS
In accordance with example embodiments of the invention there is at least a method and apparatus to perform at least detecting, by a network device of a communication network, at least one failure of network node channel access during or preceding a wake-up signal occasion, and based on the detecting, performing on-duration monitoring. In addition, there is at least a method and apparatus to perform at least determining, by a network node of a communication network, information comprising a configuration for performing on-duration monitoring if a failure of network node channel access is detected during or preceding a wake-up signal occasion; and sending an indication of the information towards the at least one network device.
TECHNIQUES FOR APERIODIC DISCONTINUOUS RECEPTION MODE COMMUNICATIONS
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless communications system may support one or more communication devices (e.g., user equipment (UE)) operating according to an aperiodic (e.g., and dynamic) discontinuous reception (DRX) mode. For example, a UE may communicate with a device in the wireless communications system (e.g., a base station, another UE) according to a periodic DRX mode. In response to a transition indication, the UE may dynamically transition to the aperiodic DRX mode and may operate according to the aperiodic DRX mode for a duration. To operate according to the aperiodic DRX mode, the UE may be configured to disable a first set of communication operations for the duration, perform a second set of communication operations during the duration, or a combination thereof (e.g., across component carriers of a carrier group, across component carriers of a DRX group).
BASEBAND PROCESSOR AND METHOD FOR POWER SAVING BY ADJUSTMENT OF CLOCK RATE AND SUPPLY VOLTAGE
The disclosure relates to a baseband processing method, comprising: receiving a downlink (DL) baseband (BB) signal in a transmission time interval (TTI), wherein the DL BB signal comprises a time-frequency resource comprising a control section and a data section; decoding at least part of the control section to detect a DL grant information; if the DL grant information is detected, determine a number of granted data resource blocks from the DL grant information; and adjust at least one of a clock rate and supply voltage of the baseband processing based on the number of granted resource blocks.
SETTING DEVICE, SETTING METHOD, RECORDING MEDIUM TO WHICH SETTING PROGRAM IS RECORDED, COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, CLIENT DEVICE, AND SERVER DEVICE
Provided is a setting device and the like with which correct estimation of a communication band is possible. The setting device 101 has a transmission unit 102 that, on the basis of a first timing at which a first information processing device 401 transmits to a second information processing device 402 a first signal for measuring a communication band which pertains to a communication network 403, transmits to the second information processing device 402 a setting signal for setting a communication unit 407 of the second information processing device 402 to a communication-enabled state.
DISCONTINUOUS RECEPTION TECHNIQUES WITH NON-UNIFORM CYCLE DURATIONS
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for configuring discontinuous reception (DRX) cycles within a DRX time period at a user equipment (UE). DRX configurations may provide that different DRX cycles have non-uniform cycle durations within the DRX time period. Such non-uniform cycle durations may provide DRX ON-durations that are aligned with a periodicity of downlink traffic to the UE in which the downlink traffic may be unaligned with timing boundaries used for wireless communications between the UE and a base station, such as slot boundaries or symbol boundaries.
Method for reducing power consumption of terminal in mobile communication system using multi-carrier structure
A method for reducing power consumption of a terminal that communicates with a base station in a mobile communication system using a multi-carrier structure composed of a primary component carrier and at least one secondary component carrier comprises: receiving a discontinuous reception (DRX) parameter group for multi carriers from the base station; and setting the multi carriers to the same parameter value, by using the received parameter group. The method for reducing power consumption of the terminal further comprises: performing a downlink control channel receive operation on each carrier according to a DRX cycle. As the base station in the mobile communication system using the multi-carrier structure simplifies the DRX process for reducing power consumption of a terminal by reducing signaling load for the multi-carrier control of the terminal, it becomes possible to reduce power consumption of the terminal.
COMMUNICATIONS DEVICES, INFRASTRUCTURE EQUIPMENT AND METHODS
A communications device is configured to receive in a wireless communications systems using discontinuous reception. The communications device is configured to receive by determining a valid number of search spaces from which a wake-up signal, WUS, can be validly received during a power saving monitoring period. The valid number of search spaces is one or more of a plurality of search spaces of a downlink physical control channel of a wireless access interface provided by a wireless communications network for a WUS. The power saving monitoring period can be monitored by a receiver of the communications device in a low power state, the WUS being decodable with more relaxed processing requirements, and the WUS indicating that the receiver of the communications device should be powered up to a higher power state to receive signals in a discontinuous receiving on, DRX_ON, period.
METHODS, APPARATUS AND SYSTEMS FOR DETERMINING A RESOURCE FOR WAKE-UP SIGNAL TRANSMISSIONS
Methods, apparatus and systems for determining a transmission resource for transmitting a wake-up signal in a wireless communication are described. In one embodiment, a method performed by a wireless communication node is disclosed. The method comprises: determining an initial transmission resource for wake-up signal (WUS) transmission; determining an updated transmission resource for WUS transmission based at least on the initial transmission resource and an offset; and transmitting, on the updated transmission resource, a WUS to at least one wireless communication device, wherein the offset is selected from a plurality of predetermined values based on a location of a paging occasion (PO) corresponding to the WUS.
