POWER ADJUSTMENT METHOD, APPARATUS, AND SYSTEM

Embodiments of this disclosure provide a power adjustment method, apparatus, and system. A first access network device may obtain a power back-off value at a first moment, and compare the power back-off value at the first moment with a power back-off value at a second moment. The second moment is earlier than the first moment. When a difference between the power back-off value at the second moment and the power back-off value at the first moment is greater than or equal to a first threshold, the first access network device adjusts an output power based on the power back-off value at the first moment.

A wireless device performs a method for updating a stored configuration. While in a power saving state, the wireless device monitors a paging channel. When the wireless device receives a paging message on the paging channel, it determines whether the paging channel includes a message relating to updating a stored configuration of the wireless device. If the paging channel includes a message relating to updating the stored configuration of the wireless device, the wireless device performs actions determined by said message.

Low power sensing for pedestrian user equipments (P-UEs)

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for low power channel sensing for pedestrian user equipments (P-UEs). A method that may be performed by a UE (e.g., such as a P-UE) includes determining a level of channel congestion for a channel during a first sensing duration. The method includes determining a second sensing duration and a transmission duration based on the level of channel congestion for the channel determined from the first sensing duration. The method includes sensing the channel for the second sensing duration. The method includes transmitting on the channel for the transmission duration.

AGGRESSIVE EXTRA MICROSLEEP USING STALE CHANNEL ESTIMATE AND NOISE ESTIMATE TO DECODE CONTROL CHANNEL

To reduce power consumption, a user equipment (UE) may trigger a microsleep in a subframe when a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) does not include a downlink grant. However, because the microsleep depends on the PDCCH not including a downlink grant, the UE cannot trigger the microsleep until after the PDCCH is decoded. Accordingly, in some aspects, a UE may enable an aggressive extra microsleep in which a microsleep duration may be increased by reducing a PDCCH decode time. For example, a UE may use a stale channel estimate and noise estimate from a previous subframe to perform PDCCH demapping when conditions related to a PDCCH block error rate are satisfied. In this way, removing channel estimation and noise estimation from a PDCCH demapping path may reduce the PDCCH decode time, whereby the UE may trigger a microsleep sooner to increase a sleep ratio and thereby increase power savings.

Time slotted scan receiver

In one embodiment, an apparatus of a wireless communication device includes control circuitry to cause receiver circuitry of the wireless communication device to switch between an on-mode and an off-mode. The apparatus also includes synchronizing circuitry to: perform a correlation on signals of a packet received by the receiver circuitry when in the on-mode to detect a pattern in the received signals, and cause the control circuitry to hold the receiver circuitry in the on-mode based on detection of the pattern in the received signals. The apparatus further includes demodulation circuitry to process additional signals of the packet received by the receiver circuitry when held in the on-mode.

Wake-up signal management

The invention relates to a method for a wireless communication apparatus, and such an apparatus, configured to use a wake-up signal (WUS), transmitted for waking up a main receiver of a wireless communication device responsive to detection of the WUS by a wake-up receiver (WUR) of the wireless communication device. The method comprises controlling a bandwidth associated with the WUS based on a reception condition metric for the WUR. Embodiments may comprise determining the reception condition metric for the WUR by correlating a received signal comprising the WUS with a WUS reference signal to provide an extreme correlation value, and determining the reception condition metric for the WUR based on the extreme correlation value. In some embodiments, controlling the bandwidth associated with the WUS based on the reception condition metric may comprise controlling a WUS bandwidth based on the reception condition metric. The wireless communication apparatus may be the wireless communication device or the access point.

Method and apparatus for monitoring paging messages

The present disclosure is related to a method and apparatus for monitoring paging messages. A method for monitoring paging messages includes receiving wake up signal (WUS) configuration information; identifying whether a WUS mechanism is enabled; and monitoring a paging message in a paging occasion (PO) based on predefined PO monitoring configuration information. Wherein the predefined PO monitoring configuration information is associated with whether the WUS mechanism is enabled and at least one of the WUS configuration information and channel quality. The present disclosure improves the efficiency of paging remote units in a PO.

Method and arrangement for reducing power consumption in a mobile communication network

A method of operating a wireless communication device in a wireless communication network is disclosed. The wireless communication device transitions between a plurality of modes, wherein the plurality of modes further includes a sleep mode, wherein the wireless communication device does not listen for downlink data transmissions, and the plurality of modes further includes an active mode, wherein the wireless communication device listens for downlink data transmissions. While the wireless communication device is operating in the active mode, it receives control signalling from a transmitter to adjust a length of time for transitioning between a first mode among the plurality of modes and a second mode among the plurality of modes based on one or more sleep rules. The wireless communication device transitions from the first mode to the second mode based, at least in part, on the adjusted length of time.

Dynamically controlling a power state of a mobile integrated access and backhaul node

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described to enable a mobile access node to enter a new power state based on detection of a second access node. The second access node may be detected by the mobile access node or a central unit (CU). The mobile access node or the CU may determine for the mobile access node to enter a new power state and may notify the other of the determination. The mobile access node may enter a lower power state if the second access node is within a defined proximity or if one or more thresholds are exceeded. The mobile access node may enter a higher power state if no other access nodes are within the defined proximity or if the one or more thresholds are not exceeded. Configuration parameters for a power state change procedure may be configured by control signaling from a CU.
