SLEEP WAKEUP METHODS FOR DISCONTINUOUS COVERAGE IN NON-TERRESTRIAL NETWORK

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for resuming communications with a non-terrestrial network in discontinuous coverage. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes determining that the UE is or will be in an out-of-coverage state with a non-terrestrial network (NTN) for a first duration; entering a power saving state in response to the determination; exiting the power saving state when the UE expects to be in an in-coverage state with the NTN; and taking one or more actions to resume communications with the NTN.

RADIO FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION MODES IN PATIENT MONITORING

Techniques for wireless component monitoring are described herein. The techniques may include entering a low power mode to associate a radio frequency identification (RFID) component with a patient monitoring device within a first range. The techniques also include entering a high power mode wherein the patient monitoring device is to detect the RFID component within a second range of the patient monitoring device, wherein the second range is larger than the first range.

Mobile device for power reduction and method thereof

A device and a method for saving power in a mobile electronic device are provided. A mobile electronic device includes a plurality of antennas and a transceiver, wherein the transceiver includes a control unit configured to switch to a low power mode to operate in the low power mode, or to operate at least one of the plurality of antennas in the low power mode when a data non-transmission period occurs for a predetermined time in an active state.

NB-IoT device performing neighboring link measurement despite refraining condition

A user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication network determines a snapshot value of a serving link signal received quality while the UE is permitted to refrain from performing neighbor link measurements. Responsive to detecting, while the UE is permitted to refrain from performing neighbor link measurements, that signal received quality of a serving link has dropped by at least a threshold amount below the snapshot value, the UE performs a neighbor link measurement.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANAGING SIGNAL TRANSMISSION POWER MODE
20230232329 · 2023-07-20 ·

The apparatus of wireless communication is a UE. The UE out of coverage of any base station may operate in a VLP mode and set a signal transmission power to a first power level. The UE may detect and connect to a base station, switch the power mode of UE based on a power mode of the base station connected by the UE, and switch the signal transmission power from the first power level to the second power level greater than the first power level. When the UE detects equal to or more than two base stations, the UE may select the base station from the equal to or more than two base stations detected based on a condition and connect to the base station selected from the two detected base stations.

PHYSICAL DOWNLINK CONTROL CHANNEL MONITORING IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
20230232331 · 2023-07-20 · ·

Provided are a method by which a terminal monitors a downlink control channel in a wireless communication system and a corresponding device. An offset-based time window is set before a conventional DRX-on period for monitoring PDCCH, and PSPDCCH for notifying of power saving information in the time window is monitored. Whether to actually monitor the PDCCH in the DRX-on period can be determined on the basis of the PS-PDCCH.

Method and device for selecting a network mode for an internet of things device

An Internet of Things (IoT) device may receive a network configuration profile including one or more parameters relating to a scan interval and a mode priority of the IoT device indicating a priority for a first IoT network over a second IoT network. The IoT device may scan for an availability of the first IoT network. Based on determining that the first IoT network is unavailable, the IoT device may scan for an availability of the second IoT network. Based on determining that the second IoT network is available, the IoT device may initiate a network connection with the second IoT network. While connected to the second IoT network, the IoT device may scan for the availability of the first IoT network. Based on determining that the first IoT network is available, the IoT device may initiate a network connection with the first IoT network.

RADIO ACCESS TECHNOLOGY SEARCHING IN DUAL ACTIVE MODE

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may detect that a first subscription, of a plurality of subscriptions associated with the UE, is associated with an active service on a first cellular network. The UE may search, for a second subscription of the plurality of subscriptions, for radio access technologies (RATs) and frequency bands that are compatible with a dual active mode of the UE. In some aspects, the UE may detect that the active service on the first cellular network has ended. Accordingly, the UE may search, for the second subscription, for RATs and frequency bands that are compatible with the dual active mode of the UE and for RATs and frequency bands that are incompatible with the dual active mode, before expiry of a timer associated with a power saving state. Numerous other aspects are described.

DOWNLINK CONTROL INFORMATION (DCI) FORMAT FOR SLEEP CONFIGURATION

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for downlink control information (DCI) format for power efficiency. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station (BS), a first DCI message in a first symbol of a downlink control channel, the first DCI message comprising a portion of an identifier that consists of less than all parts of the identifier, the first symbol being one of a plurality of symbols in a time period. The method may also include, when the portion of the identifier corresponds to the UE, receiving downlink data via resources indicated by a second DCI message, the second DCI message received in a second symbol of the downlink control channel, the second DCI message indicating the resources for receiving downlink data, the second symbol being another one of the plurality of symbols in the time period.
