MATERIAL FOR ORGANIC ELECTROLUMINESCENCE ELEMENT, AND ORGANIC ELECTROLUMINESCENCE ELEMENT
An organic electroluminescent device having high efficiency and high driving stability, and a material suitable for the organic electroluminescent device are provided. The material for organic electroluminescent devices comprises an indolocarbazole compound represented by a general formula (1). In the formula, the ring a is represented by a formula (1a), X is NR, S, O or CR.sub.2, and Ar.sup.1 and Ar.sup.2 are an aromatic heterocyclic group represented by a formula (1b). Y is N or CR, and at least one is N. L.sup.1 is an aromatic hydrocarbon group. The material for the organic electroluminescent devices is suitable as material for the host of the light emitting layer or the hole blocking layer of organic EL devices.

Organic electroluminescent materials and devices
A compound comprising a first ligand L.sub.A of Formula I, ##STR00001##
is disclosed. In the structure of Formula I, ring A is a 5-membered or 6-membered carbocyclic or heterocyclic ring; Z.sup.1-Z.sup.4 are each independently C or N; at least two consecutive Z.sup.1-Z.sup.4 are C, and are fused to a structure of Formula II ##STR00002##

Y.sup.1; Y.sup.1 and Y.sup.2 are each independently O, S, Se, CRR′, SiRR′, or GeRR′; each R.sup.A, R.sup.B, R.sup.C, R, and R′ is a hydrogen or a substituent; and any two substituents may be joined or fused together to form a ring. In the compound, L.sub.A is complexed to a metal M by the dashed lines in Formula I to form a five-membered chelate ring, and M has an atomic weight greater than 40. ORGANIC ELECTROLUMINESCENT APPARATUS
The present invention relates to an organic electroluminescent device comprising a mixture comprising an electron-transporting host material and a hole-transporting host material, and to a formulation comprising a mixture of the host materials and to a mixture comprising the host materials. The electron-transporting host material corresponds to a compound of the formula (1) from the class of compounds containing a bispirofluorenyl unit.

Organic electroluminescent materials and devices
An organic light emitting device (OLED) that includes an anode, a cathode, and an organic layer disposed between the anode and the cathode. The organic layer includes a metal compound that comprises a ligand L.sub.A of Formula I, wherein the dashed lines represent coordination to a metal M. ##STR00001##
The metal M is selected from the groups consisting of Os, Ru, Ir, Rh, Pt, Pd, and Cu, and the metal is further coordinated to one or more ligand(s) L.sub.B, wherein the ligand(s) L.sub.B can be the same or different if more than one ligand L.sub.B is present. Optionally one or two of the ligand(s) L.sub.B can independently link to the ligand L.sub.A through one of R.sup.1 to R.sup.5. The invention is also directed to a consumer product that includes an OLED, and the OLED includes an organic layer that includes a metal compound that comprises a ligand L.sub.A of Formula I.
ORGANIC ELECTROLUMINESCENT ELEMENT
To provide an organic electroluminescent device having high efficiency and high driving stability while having a low driving voltage. The organic electroluminescent device has one or more light-emitting layers between an anode and a cathode opposed to each other, wherein at least one of the light-emitting layers is a light-emitting layer composed of a vapor deposition layer containing a first host, a second host and a light-emitting dopant material; the first host is selected from oligopyridine compounds represented by the general formula (1); and the second host is selected from carbazole compounds having two or more carbazole rings, indolocarbazole compounds having an indolocarbazole ring or compounds having a carbazole ring and an indolocarbazole ring.
HETEROCYLIC COMPOUND AND LIGHT-EMITTING DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC APPARATUS INCLUDING THE HETEROCYCLIC COMPOUND

An organic light-emitting device including a first electrode, a second electrode, and an organic layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode, wherein the organic layer includes an emission layer, the emission layer includes a host, a dopant, and a sensitizer, the host does not include a metal atom, the dopant emits light, and the light has a decay time of about 100 nanoseconds or less, and the sensitizer includes an organometallic compound represented by one selected from Formulae 1 and 2 described in the specification.
