Accuracy enhancing valve assembly and method

A device and method to improve accuracy of a water meter where a fluid is introduced into a valve assembly having an external casing. The fluid contacts a toggle stopper having a shaft, plate, and guides. A calibrated spring positioned around the shaft in contact with the plate assesses if the desired fluid meets a predetermined pressure. If yes, the calibrated spring compresses thereby toggling the plate within the chamber to allow desired fluid to enter the chamber. If no, the calibrated spring remains in an expanded state to seal the valve assembly. Upon such seal, there is an equalizing of both the desired and undesired fluids to the same pressure by decreasing the volume of the undesired fluid, causing the calibrated spring to compress and reopen.

Fluid end of a high pressure plunger pump

A fluid end of a pump includes a casing defining a plurality of working spaces that each include an inlet bore, an outlet bore, a plunger bore, and a valve cover bore. The bores define a cross bore intersection space, and an inlet bore transition area at the intersection of the inlet bore and the cross bore intersection space. A first V-shaped groove and a second V-shaped groove are formed adjacent the inlet bore transition area with each extending partially around the inlet bore axis. An inlet spring retainer includes first and second engagement portions and is orientable in a first orientation in which the retainer is movable from the inlet bore to the plunger bore and a second orientation in which the retainer engages the first and second V-shaped grooves to inhibit movement of the retainer from the inlet bore to the cross bore intersection space.

Integrated one way valve

A one way valve cartridge for a flow assembly includes a housing having an axial aperture formed therein. A leading ring is coupled to the housing. A piston is disposed in the housing and is in sliding relationship with the leading ring. The piston is configured to reciprocate between a closed position to seal the axial aperture and an open position to permit a flow of fluid through the axial aperture. A spring urges the piston into the closed position to seal with the housing.

Minimum Pressure Valve for a Screw Compressor for a Vehicle, in Particular a Utility Vehicle

A minimum pressure valve for a screw compressor for a vehicle, in particular a utility vehicle, is provided with a housing; a valve insert opening which is formed in the housing; a valve insert which is inserted into the valve insert opening and has a valve piston bore; a valve piston, a valve piston section of which is guided in the valve insert in a movable manner in the valve piston bore; at least one fluid inlet channel; and at least one fluid outlet channel. The fluid inlet channel has at least one valve seat on the inlet channel end which faces the valve piston, wherein the valve piston can be set against the valve seat in order to close the minimum pressure valve such that the fluid inlet channel and the fluid outlet channel are separated in a closed position of the valve piston. The valve seat has a valve seat diameter dA, and the valve piston section has a valve piston section diameter dB. The ratio of the valve piston section diameter dB to the valve seat diameter dA ranges between ca. 0.6 and ca. 0.95.

Check valve and receptacle structure

In order to reduce a pressure loss in a check valve and simplify a manufacturing process, a check valve (10) configured to be disposed in piping of fluid is provided, which includes a valve housing (31) including a valve element (52) and a valve seat (54) therein, a casing (20) that is configured to place the valve housing therein, in which a casing flow path (60) is provided between the casing and the valve housing to make a flow of the fluid in an axial direction of the valve housing. In the valve housing, a communicating hole (38) and sealing portion (34) are formed. The communicating hole that is formed through the valve housing in a thickness direction thereof introduces the fluid, which flows through between the valve element and the valve seat at the open position of the check valve, into the casing flow path. The sealing portion that is provided on an outer surface of the valve housing upstream of the communicating hole in a flow direction of the fluid in the casing flow path, is configured to come into contact with an inner surface of the casing to seal the casing flow path and position the valve housing in a radial direction perpendicular to the axial direction relative to the casing.

ACCURACY ENHANCING VALVE ASSEMBLY AND METHOD

The invention is directed to a method to improve accuracy of a meter. The method first contemplates introducing a desired fluid into a valve assembly having an external casing with an inlet, outlet and interior side forming a chamber. Next, a desired fluid contacts a toggle stopper having a shaft, plate, and guides. A calibrated spring positioned around the shaft in contact with the plate assesses if the desired fluid meets a predetermined pressure. If the fluid meets this threshold, the calibrated spring compresses thereby toggling plate within the chamber to allow desired fluid to enter the chamber. Should the total pressure of the desired fluid and/or an undesired fluid create a pressure that fails to meet the predetermined pressure, the calibrated spring expands to seal the valve assembly. Upon such seal, there is an equalizing of both the desired and undesired fluids to the same pressure by decreasing the volume of the undesired fluid, causing the calibrated spring to compress and reopen.
