A gas turbine engine includes a fan that has fan blades wherein the fan delivers airflow to a bypass duct. A gearbox is defined along an engine axis. A low spool is arranged aft of the gearbox and coupled to drive the gearbox. A front center body assembly is defined around the engine axis. A flexible support supports the gearbox relative to the front center body assembly. A bearing package is mounted to the front center body assembly and the low spool. A front wall is mounted to the front center body assembly. The front wall is removable from the front center body assembly to access at least one of the gearbox or the bearing package. The low spool includes a low pressure compressor hub that provides a spline for engaging the bearing package.

The invention relates to a fluid pump, in particular to a liquid pump having a rotor with at last one rotor blade for conveying the fluid, the rotor being variable with respect to its diameter between a first, compressed state and a second expanded state. In order to produce a simple compressibility and expandability of the rotor of the pump, it is provided according to the invention that at least one rotor blade is deformable between a first state which it assumes in the compressed state of the rotor and a second state which it assumes in the expanded state of the rotor by means of a fluid counterpressure during a rotation of the rotor during pump operation.

A housing cover (44) seals the motor mounting space (25). The housing cover (44) has a cover meshing opening (46). A second housing part (50), with a cover meshing projection (52), is positioned or can be positioned in a meshing manner in the cover meshing opening (46). The cover meshing opening (46) is sealed with the cover meshing projection (52) being positioned in a meshing manner in the cover meshing opening (46).

A rotor for at least one of a turbine and a compressor of a supercharging device may include a shaft defining an axis of rotation and at least one impeller. The at least one impeller may have a thread which is arranged coaxially to the axis of rotation. The shaft may include a complementary thread which is arranged coaxially to the axis of rotation. The shaft and the at least one impeller may be secured together via the respective threads. The shaft and the at least one impeller may be fixed with respect to one another via at least one of a soldered connection, a welded connection, an adhesive bond, a clamped connection and a crystallization connection.

The modular units each include an interior surface and have a front end and a back end that define a chamber. The chambers are configured to receive the motors and fans. Sound attenuation layers extend along at least a portion of the interior surface of the corresponding chambers. The sound attenuation layers are positioned between at least some of the adjacent chambers.

A rotor hub is disposed within the stator housing having a first, mixed-stage impeller and a second, axial-flow stage impellers. One or more stator vanes and extend radially inwardly from the stator housing. In one particular embodiment, the second stage impeller is disposed nearer to the outlet than to the inlet. The stator vanes may include a first set of stator vanes disposed between the first and second stage impellers, and a second set of stator vanes positioned between the second stage impellers and the outlet.

A fan casing arrangement for a gas turbine engine having a propulsive fan, the arrangement having a fan case and a fan track liner and being configured to circumscribe the fan, wherein the fan track liner is provided around the inside of fan case so as to adopt a radial position between the fan and the fan case. The fan track liner includes an elongate member which is helically-wound against the inside of the fan case in a plurality of turns. A method of installing a fan track liner in a fan casing arrangement for a gas turbine engine having a propulsive fan, the method involving: providing a fan case to circumscribe the fan, providing a flexible and elongate liner member, and helically winding the liner member against the inside of the fan case in a plurality of turns to define at least part of the fan track liner.

Fan and motor assembly and method of assembling

A motor assembly is provided that includes a fan housing having an air inlet and an air outlet, and a motor coupled to the fan housing and positioned within the air inlet. The motor includes a first end, a second end, and a shaft. The motor assembly further includes a fan coupled to the shaft proximate the motor second end. The motor first end includes a contoured surface having a stagnation point and a plurality of points along the contoured surface downstream of the stagnation point. Each point of the plurality of points has a coefficient of pressure less than 1, and the contoured surface is configured to direct air around the motor and to reduce airflow restriction and flow disturbance within the fan housing.

A rotor assembly includes an output shaft and at least a first rotary piston member disposed radially about the output shaft. The rotary piston member includes an vane element. A continuous seal is disposed on peripheral longitudinal faces and lateral end faces of the rotary piston element. The bore through the stator housing includes an interior cavity with surfaces adapted to receive the rotor assembly and contact the continuous seal. With rotation fluid ports blocked, the housing cavity is sealed with the continuous piston seal for hydraulic blocking, preventing actuator displacement by external forces. A method of operation and method of assembly is disclosed.
