Functionally Optimized Design of a Cylinder Liner
A cylinder of an internal combustion engine, in which cylinder liner an oscillating piston is guided on a running surface wherein the cylinder line is fixed vertically by means of a collar between a cylinder housing and a cylinder head. The wet cylinder includes an outer side which deviates from a circular shape and/or a rotationally asymmetrical outer contour of the collar. The cylinder liner is fitted in a positionally oriented manner in a corresponding receptable of the cylinder housing.
Cast dual wall bulkhead with integral oil drain
Systems and methods are provided for a cylinder block having one or more bulkheads. The bulkheads provide a dual-wall structure that may enhance the stiffness of the cylinder block in bending and torsion. The bulkheads may also provide an oil drain to allow oil to directly drain through a hollow core of the bulkhead. An overflow outlet may be formed in an inner wall of a bulkhead. In some implementations, a cylinder block with bulkheads may increase an oil capacity of an engine.
Internal combustion engine with a lubrication system and method for producing an internal combustion engine
A lubrication system in an internal combustion engine is provided. The lubrication system includes a crankshaft bearing supporting a crankshaft, a supply line including an outlet flowing oil to the crankshaft bearing and an inlet receiving oil from an oil gallery, and thermal insulation at least partially surrounding at least a portion of an inner wall of the supply line and/or the oil gallery.
Method for manufacturing cylinder block
In a method for manufacturing a cylinder block provided with cylinder bores, the cylinder block is held by a clamp device, stress is generated in the cylinder block by a holding force of the clamp device to duplicate deformations of the cylinder bores after assembling hearing caps thereon, boring is carried out with the cylinder bores deformed in a condition where the stress is generated, and a thermally sprayed coating is formed, after the boring, on each inner surfaces of the cylinder bores deformed in the condition where the stress is generated. According to the method for manufacturing a cylinder block, superior cylindricity, after assembling the bearing caps, of the cylinder bores on each of which the thermally sprayed coating is formed can be brought, and workability degradation of finishing works (honing) for each inner surface of the cylinder bores (thermally sprayed coatings) can be restricted.
Engine combustion chamber structure and manufacturing method thereof
An object of the present invention is to enhance the thermal efficiency of an engine, to provide a film having low thermal conductivity and low heat capacity and being free from separation, drop-off and the like and excellent in durability and reliability. According to the present invention, an engine combustion chamber structure, wherein an anodic oxide film having a thickness of from more than 20 μm to 500 μm and a porosity of 20% or more is formed on the inner surface of the engine combustion chamber, and a manufacturing method thereof are provided.
Slide member, refrigerant compressor incorporating slide member, refrigerator and air conditioner
A slide member of the present invention is used in a slide unit which is included in a refrigerant compressor for compressing a refrigerant and provided inside a sealed container which reserves lubricating oil therein. The slide member is provided with an oxide coating film on a surface of a base material. The oxide coating film is configured such that (1) when the base material comprises an iron based material, the oxide coating film has a three-layer structure including a first layer comprising Fe.sub.2O.sub.3, a second layer comprising Fe.sub.3O.sub.4, and a third layer comprising FeO in this order from an outermost surface, (2) the oxide coating film has a dense structure having minute concave/convex portions with a height difference which falls within a range of 0.01 m to 0.1 m, or (3) when the base material comprises the iron based material, the oxide coating film has a three-layer structure in which the three layers comprise the iron oxides and are different in hardness.
Manufacturing method for cylinder head
A manufacturing method for a cylinder head is described. A masking member is attached to a cylinder head material, which followed by a film formation step. The masking member comprises a mask portion to mask the matching surface with the cylinder block, mask portions to mask each of the openings of intake and exhaust ports and a mask portion to mask at least one narrow region sandwiched between openings of two adjacent port holes and has the shortest distance between opening edges of the two adjacent port holes. All Mask portions are coplanar and linked directly to each other.
