Abstract
A liquid supplier includes: a supply port which supplies a liquid to a space between an objective lens and an observation object; and a recovery port which recovers the liquid supplied from the supply port, wherein the supply port and the recovery port satisfy a condition where positions of the supply port and the recovery port differ from each other in a direction of an optical axis of the objective lens or a condition where positions of the supply port and the recovery port with respect to the optical axis differ from each other in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the objective lens or both conditions.
Claims
1. A liquid supplier comprising: a supply port which supplies a liquid to a space between an objective lens and an observation object; and a recovery port which recovers the liquid supplied from the supply port, wherein the supply port and the recovery port satisfy a condition where positions of the supply port and the recovery port differ from each other in a direction of an optical axis of the objective lens or a condition where positions of the supply port and the recovery port with respect to the optical axis differ from each other in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the objective lens or both conditions.
2. The liquid supplier according to claim 1, wherein the recovery port is arranged above the supply port.
3. The liquid supplier according to claim 1, wherein the recovery port is arranged at a position different from that of the supply port in a radial direction with respect to the optical axis of the objective lens.
4. The liquid supplier according to claim 1, wherein a distance from the recovery port to the optical axis of the objective lens is set shorter than a distance from the supply port to the optical axis of the objective lens.
5. The liquid supplier according to claim 1, the liquid supplier further comprising: a supply member having the supply port; a recovery member having the recovery port; and an inserter/remover which inserts or removes the supply member and the recovery member into or from a light path.
6. The liquid supplier according to claim 5, wherein the supply member and the recovery member are arranged in an overlapped manner in an optical axis direction of the objective lens.
7. The liquid supplier according to claim 5, wherein the objective lens and the observation object can relatively move in the optical axis direction of the objective lens, and the inserter/remover moves the supply member and the recovery member in conjunction with relative movement between the objective lens and the observation object.
8. The liquid supplier according to claim 7, the liquid supplier further comprising a nozzle unit including the supply member and the recovery member, wherein the inserter/remover rotates the nozzle unit about an axis intersecting with the optical axis of the objective lens, in conjunction with relative movement between the objective lens and the observation object.
9. The liquid supplier according to claim 7, wherein the inserter/remover includes: a cam provided on one of a stage which supports the observation object and a supporter which supports the objective lens; and a cam follower provided on the other of the stage and the supporter and engaged with the cam.
10. The liquid supplier according to claim 1, the liquid supplier further comprising: a feeder which is connected to the supply port and feeds the liquid; and a sucker which is connected to the recovery port and sucks the liquid, wherein the sucker performs suction in parallel at least with part of feeding performed by the feeder.
11. An objective lens holder which includes the liquid supplier according to claim 1, and which holds and positions the objective lens.
12. A microscope comprising the objective lens holder according to claim 11, and the objective lens.
13. A liquid supply method comprising: supplying a liquid from a supply port to a space between an objective lens and an observation object; recovering from a recovery port the liquid supplied from the supply port; and arranging the supply port and the recovery port so as to satisfy a condition where positions of the supply port and the recovery port differ from each other in a direction of an optical axis of the objective lens or a condition where positions of the supply port and the recovery port with respect to the optical axis differ from each other in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the objective lens or both conditions.
14. A microscope comprising: an objective lens; a liquid control member which controls the liquid to be supplied to a space between the objective lens and the observation object; and a driver which moves the liquid control member.
15. The microscope according to claim 14, wherein the driver moves the liquid control member so as to approach the objective lens.
16. The microscope according to claim 14, wherein the driver moves the liquid control member so as to move away from the objective lens.
17. The microscope according to claim 14, wherein the driver moves the liquid control member on the basis of a distance between the objective lens and the observation object.
18. The microscope according to claim 14, wherein the objective lens and the observation object can relatively move in the optical axis direction of the objective lens, and the driver moves the liquid control member in conjunction with relative movement between the objective lens and the observation object.
19. The microscope according to claim 14, the microscope further comprising a nozzle unit including the liquid control member, wherein the driver rotates the nozzle unit about an axis intersecting with the optical axis of the objective lens, in conjunction with relative movement between the objective lens and the observation object.
20. The microscope according to claim 14, wherein the driver includes: a cam provided on one of a stage which supports the observation object and a supporter which supports the objective lens; and a cam follower provided on the other of the stage and the supporter and engaged with the cam.
21. The microscope according to claim 14, wherein the liquid control member includes a supply member which supplies a liquid to a space between the objective lens and the observation object.
22. The microscope according to claim 21, wherein the supply member has a supply port, the driver moves the supply port to a first position when the distance between the objective lens and the observation object is a first distance; the driver moves the supply port to a second position when the distance between the objective lens and the observation object is a second distance; and the first distance is longer than the second distance, and the first position is closer than the second position to the optical axis of the objective lens.
23. The microscope according to claim 22, wherein the liquid to be supplied onto the objective lens and the observation object is supplied when the supply port is at the first position.
24. The microscope according to claim 21, wherein the liquid control member includes a recovery member which recovers the liquid supplied by the supply member.
25. The microscope according to claim 24, wherein the recovery member has a recovery port, the driver moves the recovery port to a first position when the distance between the objective lens and the observation object is a first distance; the driver moves the recovery port to a second position when the distance between the objective lens and the observation object is a second distance; and the first distance is longer than the second distance, and the first position is closer than the second position to the optical axis of the objective lens.
26. The microscope according to claim 25, wherein the liquid to be supplied onto the objective lens and the observation object is recovered when the recovery port is at the first position.
27. A microscope comprising: an objective lens; a supply member which supplies a liquid to a space between the objective lens and an observation object; and a recovery member which recovers the liquid supplied by the supply member, wherein the supply member has a supply port; the recovery member has a recovery port; and the supply port and the recovery port are arranged at positions different from each other in a direction perpendicular to an optical axis direction of the objective lens or to an optical axis of the objective lens.
28. The microscope according to claim 27, wherein a distance from the recovery port to the optical axis of the objective lens is shorter than a distance from the supply port to the optical axis of the objective lens.
29. The microscope according to claim 27, the microscope further comprising a driver which moves the supply member and the recovery member.
30. The microscope according to claim 29, wherein the driver moves the supply member and the recovery member so as to approach the objective lens.
31. The microscope according to claim 29, wherein the driver moves the supply member and the recovery member so as to move away from the objective lens.
32. The microscope according to claim 29, wherein the driver moves the supply member and the recovery member on the basis of a distance between the objective lens and the observation object.
33. The microscope according to claim 29, wherein the objective lens and the observation object can relatively move in the optical axis direction of the objective lens, and the driver moves the supply member and the recovery member in conjunction with relative movement between the objective lens and the observation object.
34. The microscope according to claim 29, wherein a nozzle unit including the supply member and the recovery member, wherein the driver rotates the nozzle unit about an axis intersecting with the optical axis of the objective lens, in conjunction with relative movement between the objective lens and the observation object.
35. The microscope according to claim 29, wherein the driver includes: a cam provided on one of a stage which supports the observation object and a supporter which supports the objective lens; and a cam follower provided on the other of the stage and the supporter and engaged with the cam.

The microscope according to claim 29, wherein the driver moves the supply port to a first position when the distance between the objective lens and the observation object is a first distance; the driver moves the supply port to a second position when the distance between the objective lens and the observation object is a second distance; and the first distance is longer than the second distance, and the first position is closer than the second position to the optical axis of the objective lens.
37. The microscope according to claim 36, wherein the liquid to be supplied to a space between the objective lens and the observation object is supplied when the supply port is at the first position.
38. The microscope according to claim 29, wherein the driver moves the recovery port to a third position when the distance between the objective lens and the observation object is a first distance; the driver moves the recovery port to a fourth position when the distance between the objective lens and the observation object is a second distance; and the first distance is longer than the second distance, and the third position is closer than the fourth position to the optical axis of the objective lens.
39. The microscope according to claim 38, wherein the liquid to be supplied to a space between the objective lens and the observation object is recovered when the recovery port is at the third position.
40. The microscope according to claim 29, wherein supply and recovery of the liquid to and from the objective lens and the observation object are performed concurrently.

In order to supply a prescribed amount of the liquid onto the objective lens 12, 15 microliters per second is preferable on the supply side and 20 microliters per second is preferable on the suction side.
