A coating for improved flammability performance for use with electrical components for use with multiple surfaces, including metal and polymeric surfaces is provided for herein. The coating comprises a carrier, primary additives and secondary additive and provides for enhanced performance of the electrical components by eliminating or delaying the start of a flame event or in the case of a flame event, decreasing the flame height.

Composition and flame-retardant resin composition

A composition includes first, second, and third components. The composition preferably includes 0.1 to 50 parts by mass of the third component with respect to 100 parts by mass in total of the first and second components. The first component is at least one type of melamine salt selected from the group consisting of melamine orthophosphate, melamine pyrophosphate, and melamine polyphosphate. The second component is at least one type of piperazine salt selected from the group consisting of piperazine orthophosphate, piperazine pyrophosphate, and piperazine polyphosphate. The third component is cyanuric acid or zinc cyanurate.

FIRE PROTECTION COMPOSITION

The present invention relates to a fire protection composition comprising a component A and a component B. Component A comprises an epoxy liquid resin and ammonium polyphosphate. Component B comprises an adduct B1 of (i) at least one polyamine having at least three amine hydrogens reactive toward epoxide groups with (ii) at least one epoxide, an ether group-containing aliphatic primary diamine B2, and an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic primary diamine B3. The fire protection composition has good adhesion to metal, and after passing through burning-in ovens in the automotive industry still shows good fire protection values with a low mass loss and is suitable for spray application.

ADDITIVES FOR FLAME RETARDED POLYOLEFINS

This invention provides a flame retardant additive composition which comprises at least one glow suppressant and at least one brominated flame retardant. The glow suppressant is about 0.5 wt % or more of the flame retardant additive composition, based on the total weight of the flame retardant additive composition. The brominated flame retardant contains aromatically-bound bromine and is selected from a) a brominated anionic styrenic polymer having a number average molecular weight of about 750 to about 7500, and/or a bromine content of about 60 wt % to about 77 wt %, b) a brominated anionic chain transfer vinyl aromatic polymer which contains about 70 wt % or more bromine, or a mixture of any two or more of these. Also provided are flame retarded polyolefin compositions that contain at least one glow suppressant and a brominated flame retardant.

ELECTRICAL INSULATION MATERIAL AND MANUFACTURING PROCESS

The invention relates to an electrically insulating composite material (1) comprising a polyepoxide matrix (2) of cycloaliphatic type or of diglycidyl ether type in a content of less than 40% by mass, from 20 to 75% by mass of one or several micrometric and/or mesometric filler(s) (3), and from 0.1 to 20% by mass of at least one ionic liquid (4), the masses being expressed relative to the total mass of the electrically insulating composite material (1). The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing such an electrically insulating composite material (1), as well as its use for an electrically insulating support (9) in a metal-enclosed substation (5).

FLAME-RETARDANT MIXTURES, FLAME-RETARDING POLYMER COMPOSITIONS, CABLE EQUIPPED THEREWITH AND USE THEREOF
