The receiver (4, 5) receives the ultrasonic signal (7) transmitted by the transmitter (4, 5) after at least one reflection on the inner wall of the measuring tube (3), the ultrasonic signal (7) having a first signal component (8) and at least a second signal component (9).

A PARTICLE SENSOR AND PARTICLE SENSING METHOD

A particle sensor uses an electrostatic particle charging section in the form of an ionization chamber. A flow sensor arrangement is used to produce a signal which is representative of the amount of gas flow between the outside of the ionization chamber and the inside of the ionization chamber. This information is indicative of the flow conditions, and can be used to determine when adverse flow conditions are present which may adversely affect the performance or lifetime of the particle sensor.

A flow rate measuring unit, comprising a housing, which is composed of at least two housing parts that can be connected to one another and in which a flow passage extends, which branches off into a measuring channel branch and at least one bypass channel branch, wherein a substrate comprising a sensor system is disposed in the measuring channel branch. According to the invention, the flow passage includes a channel widening chamber in which an insert plate stack composed of at least two insert plates is disposed, which each include at least one plate-longitudinal recess extending in the longitudinal direction as the measuring channel branch and/or as the bypass channel branch. The insert plates are provided as insert parts for the channel widening chamber.

MULTIPHASE FLOW METERS AND RELATED METHODS

Multiphase flow meters and related methods are disclosed herein. An example apparatus includes an inlet manifold; an outlet manifold, first and second flow paths coupled between the inlet and outlet manifolds; and an analyzer to determine a flow rate of fluid flowing through the first and second flow paths based on a parameter of the fluid flowing through the first flow path.

Flow sensor

A flow sensor assembly includes a housing that defines an inlet port, an outlet port, a main channel and a bypass channel. An inlet flow channel fluidly connects the inlet port of the flow sensor assembly to the main channel and an outlet flow channel fluidly connects the main channel to the outlet port. A bypass feeder input channel fluidly connects the main channel to the bypass channel and a bypass feeder output channel fluidly connect the bypass channel to the main channel. In some instances, at least 40 percent of an input pressure differential applied between the inlet port and the outlet port of the flow sensor assembly drops across the inlet flow channel and the outlet flow channel collectively. A sensor is exposed to a fluid in the bypass channel and senses a measure related to a flow rate of the fluid flowing through the bypass channel.

Flow rate range variable type flow rate control apparatus

A pressure type flow rate control apparatus is provided wherein flow rate of fluid passing through an orifice is computed as Qc=KP1 (where K is a proportionality constant) or as Qc=KP2.sup.m (P1-P2).sup.n (where K is a proportionality constant, m and n constants) by using orifice upstream side pressure P1 and/or orifice downstream side pressure P2. A fluid passage between the downstream side of a control valve and a fluid supply pipe of the pressure type flow rate control apparatus comprises at least 2 fluid passages in parallel, and orifices having different flow rate characteristics are provided for each of these fluid passages, wherein fluid in a small flow quantity area flows to one orifice for flow control of fluid in the small flow quantity area, while fluid in a large flow quantity area flows to the other orifice for flow control of fluid in the large flow quantity area.

Modular removable flow metering assembly with cone shaped differential pressure producer in a compact fluid conduit
09880032 · 2018-01-30 ·

A modular removable flow metering assembly for a unidirectional fluid channel having three variations. Each embodiment can use a compact fluid conduit for connecting an upstream fluid flow to a downstream fluid flow. An embodiment uses a unitary dual measurement container having an upstream port opening opposite to a downstream port. The upstream port communicates with an upstream fluid channel with an upstream pressure. The downstream port communicates with a downstream fluid channel having a downstream pressure. A cone shaped differential pressure producer with a flared discharge end is in fluid communication with the downstream fluid channel. A manifold can fluidly connect the upstream and downstream fluid channels, and a customer connection device can receive the upstream pressure and downstream pressure.

SYSTEM AND APPROACH FOR CONTROLLING A COMBUSTION CHAMBER

A system for controlling activity in a combustion chamber. The system does not necessarily need to be mechanically adjusted and yet may provide precise control of a fuel air mixture ratio. A sensing module of the system may have a mass flow sensor that relates to air flow and another sensor that relates to fuel flow. Neither sensor may need contact with fuel. Fuel and air to the system may be controlled. Pressure of the fuel and/or air may be regulated. The sensors may provide signals to a processor to indicate a state of the fuel and air in the system. The processor, with reliance on a programmed curve, table or the like, often based on data, in a storage memory, may regulate the flow or pressure of the fuel and air in a parallel fashion to provide an appropriate fuel-air mixture to the combustion chamber.

Determining the Delivery Rate of a Pump
20170198699 · 2017-07-13 ·

The invention relates to a method for determining the delivery rate of a pump. In this context, a value of the delivery level and a value of the power of the pump are determined. A probability density function is calculated for the delivery level and the power. A first probability density function of the delivery rate is calculated on the basis of a delivery level-delivery rate relationship and the probability density function of the delivery level. A second probability density function of the delivery rate is determined on the basis of a power-delivery rate relationship and the probability density function of the power. A combined probability density function of the delivery rate is determined on the basis of the first and second probability density functions. The delivery rate is determined on the basis of the combined probability density function.
