Fluid management systems are disclosed that include software-controlled, electro-mechanical devices used in combination with single-use or multi-use tubing sets. Functions of the fluid management systems can include fluid pressurization, fluid warming, fluid deficit monitoring (including flow-based and weight-based), suction, fluid collection, and fluid evacuation (including indirect-to-drain and direct-to-drain options). The systems can be configured based on the surgical environment (e.g., operating room or physician office) as well as other user needs and/or preferences.

A system for measuring an amount of liquid in an elastic bag, where there is formed in the lower area of the elastic bag a liquid opening for retrieving liquid from the elastic bag. The system includes push elements, which abut at opposite walls of the elastic bag and which are spaced apart from one another, a drive unit, which is configured to drive at least one push element, sensors, and a control unit. The sensors are configured to measure a liquid level of the liquid in the elastic bag. The control unit is configured to calculate an amount of liquid in the elastic bag on the basis of the liquid level and the distance between the push elements. The liquid level of the liquid in the elastic bag is changeable by reducing the distance between the push elements by means of the at least one drive unit.

Aspects of the present invention provide a method for using an apparatus to deliver medicine and to wash, clean, and dry a region of a human body. The apparatus include a toilet seat assembly and a medicine delivery assembly. In addition, the apparatus may include a drying nozzle assembly and/or a spraying nozzle assembly. The medicine delivery assembly may include one or more medicine storage cartridges and/or one or more medicine base units, each medicine base unit includes at least a cartridge unit and at least a cartridges slot, wherein the cartridge slot is adapted to match with a medicine storage cartridge. The medicine delivery assembly may include a medicine delivery nozzle, which can be coupled to a spraying nozzle assembly, or may be operated by itself with a medicine delivery nozzle. Finally, the medicine delivery assembly can be controlled by one or more control units.

A personal hygiene device includes a bottle body configured to hold a fluid, and an extension tube, connected to the bottle body through a connector. In some embodiments, the extension tube includes a brush and an orifice configured to release the fluid. In other embodiments, the extension tube is designed to be inserted into a body cavity and does not include a brush.

Provided is a portable bidet capable of maintaining the quality of cleaning water. A portable bidet is configured to include a tank portion formed to be compression-deformable and restorable to its original shape, a nozzle that is connected to the tank portion and can discharge a fluid, and a sealing portion that is provided continuously to the nozzle. The tank portion and the nozzle are connected via a cylindrical portion having a cylindrical shape. In a sealed state where the fluid is sealed by the sealing portion, the fluid is fully filled in a storing chamber in a state where the tank portion is compressed, and in an opened state where sealing by the sealing portion is released, the tank portion is restored to its original shape, and a volume of the storing chamber is expanded as compared with a volume of the storing chamber in the sealed state.

A system and method for detecting and/or capturing a cassette is disclosed. The cassette capture mechanism may be used with a surgical console of a surgical system, wherein the system has a cassette receiving area having at least two alignment sensors and a plurality of capture plungers; and at least two capture hooks which may engage with a cassette, wherein at least one of the at least two alignment sensors produces a signal indicative of the presence of a cassette.

A multi-component oral care formulation composed essentially of a first antiseptic composition and a second activating composition and multi-compartment delivery systems thereof, which are beneficial for stable storage and instant catalyzation and activation, are provided. The first composition comprises antiseptic compounds such as peroxygen compounds and colloidal silver as antiseptic agent and stabilizers and steric retarders that diminish the potential decomposition of the antiseptic compounds during storage. Medical lavage devices are described. Devices include a container that can retain a lavage liquid and an outlet through which a lavage liquid carried by the container can be delivered. Devices also include a light source that is retained relative to the outlet such that the light (e.g., white light, UV light) from the light source can illuminate a liquid delivery area, i.e., an area through which liquid will pass or be delivered following exit from the container via the outlet. A device can optionally include a pump for moving liquid through the outlet and/or an attachment at the outlet, e.g., a luer lock, that can be used to attach an accessory, e.g., a delivery catheter to the device. A device can include one or more accessory components, e.g., a splash guard, a magnifying lens, a penetration depth guard, etc., to improve or modify the liquid delivery characteristics of the device.

A portable bowel irrigating system for irrigating the bowels of a user with a removably attachable and replaceable pump cartridge allowing for moving parts of the pump mechanism to be substituted and for a high standard of cleanliness. The system includes a base unit, a liquid container, the pump cartridge, tubing, and an anal probe. Also disclosed is a method of irrigating the bowels of a user.
