A multilayer electronic component includes: a body including a dielectric layer and first and second internal electrodes, and including first to sixth surfaces; a first external electrode including a first connection portion on the third surface, a first band portion extending from the first connection portion onto the first surface, and a third band portion extending from the first connection portion onto the second surface; a second external electrode including a second connection portion on the fourth surface, a second band portion extending from the second connection portion onto the first surface, and a fourth band portion extending from the second connection portion onto the second surface; an insulating layer including oxide including aluminum (Al), disposed on the first and second connection portions, and covering the second surface and the third and fourth band portions; and first and second plating layers respectively disposed on the first and second band portions.

A first external electrode includes a first connection portion disposed on a third surface, and first and third band portions extending from the first connection portion respectively onto a portion of a first and a second surface. A second external electrode includes a second connection portion disposed on a fourth surface, and second and fourth band portions extending from the second connection portion respectively onto a portion of the first and second surfaces. An insulating layer including an oxide containing hafnium is disposed on the first and second connection portions and covers the second surface and the third and fourth band portions. First and second plating layers are disposed respectively on the first and second band portions.

An average thickness of the first or second plating layer is smaller than an average thickness of the insulating layer.

A multilayer electronic component includes: a body including dielectric layers and internal electrodes alternately disposed with respective dielectric layers interposed therebetween; a first external electrode including a first connection portion, and first and second band portions extending from the first connection portion; a second external electrode including a second connection portion, and second and fourth band portions extending from the second connection portion; an insulating layer disposed to extend to a portion on the first and second connection portions; a first plating layer disposed on the first band portion and disposed to extend to be in contact with the insulating layer; and a second plating layer disposed on the second band portion and disposed to extend to be in contact with the insulating layer. An average thickness of the first or second plating layer is smaller than an average thickness of the insulating layer.

According to one embodiment, a capacitor includes a conductive substrate, a conductive layer, a dielectric layer, and first and second external electrodes. The conductive substrate has a first main surface provided with recess(s), a second main surface, and an end face extending between edges of the first and second main surfaces. The conductive layer covers the first main surface and side walls and bottom surfaces of the recess(s). The dielectric layer is interposed between the conductive substrate and the conductive layer. The first external electrode includes a first electrode portion facing the end face and is electrically connected to the conductive layer. The second external electrode includes a second electrode portion facing the end face and is electrically connected to the conductive substrate.
MULTILAYER CAPACITOR
A multilayer capacitor includes: a body including a capacitance region in which at least one first internal electrode and at least one second internal electrode are alternately stacked on each other interposing at least one dielectric layer therebetween in a first direction; and first and second external electrodes disposed on the body and spaced apart from each other to be respectively connected to the at least one first internal electrode and the at least one second internal electrode, wherein the body includes a side margin overlapping none of the at least one first internal electrode and the at least one second internal electrode in the first direction, and a center width of the side margin is greater than a minimum width of the side margin.
