A robotic ticket scratching system includes a controller configured to receive a dispense command for a ticket dispensing machine; cause the ticket dispensing machine to dispense, based on the dispense command, a ticket having a scratching area; and receive user-provided signing data and user-provided scratching data from the application server. The robotic ticket scratching system further includes a robotic scratching mechanism configured to scratch, or remove an opaque substance from, the scratching area of the ticket in accordance with the user-provided scratching data.

The present invention relates to a scratching device and in particular to a scratching device having an integrated light. The scratching device is a tool having a first end and a second end. A stylus and a retractable writing element can be at the first end of the tool. A scraper is at the second end of the tool. The scraper has first and second sides that can converge to form an edge. The scraper has an interior that encases a light. The light is diffused through the scraper, wherein the edge is illuminated. The first side of the scraper can be concave, and the second side can be convex.

A clipboard apparatus for holding lottery tickets and collecting shavings from the lottery tickets. The clipboard apparatus has a base having a flat top surface and a bottom surface, the base has a proximal end and a distal end. A clip is coupled to the top surface of proximal end of the base, wherein the clip can secure one or more lottery tickets held on the base. A method, system and device for inspection of a lottery ticket uses a device to scan lottery tickets to detect information concerning the amount of scratch-off material, such as a coating or a covering, that has been removed from a ticket, and/or the type, amount, or content of underlying indicia that have been revealed by the scratches. The system may use the information to calculate and set or determine a tolerance level for scratching below which a ticket will not be invalidated, based on parameters that may include the amount of surface area that has been scratched, and/or the type, amount, or content of underlying indicia that has been revealed. The system enables a user to input information to reset the threshold volume to a user-selected volume above which invalidation is triggered.

It is the object of the present invention to provide gaming apparatus and a lottery ticket engagement kit that provides improved interaction with scratch-off style lottery tickets wherein the kit includes elements configured to facilitate improved removal of the film superposed the upper surface of the scratch-off style lottery tickets. The elements will include various sizes and grip members that will reduce the pressure necessary to remove the film from lottery style tickets and will reduce significant pressure needed and that can be challenging for elderly and others that are physically challenged.

The present invention relates to a handheld scratching device for scratch-off tickets. The device/tool is used for scraping opaque or film coatings of the scratch-off tickets such as a lottery tickets, to reveal hidden printed material thereunder. The device includes a base that includes a keyhole and a thumb grip indentation for securely and comfortably gripping the device during scraping. The device also includes a scratching edge for scraping the opaque or film coatings easily and securely. The keyhole is used for attaching the base to a key ring, keychain or keepsake holder. The device can come in multiple shapes, colors and designs, and can have messages or quotations printed or engraved in the base. The device obviates the use of a coin or any conventional sharp object to scrape a scratch-off ticket.

A controller is configured to obtain first image data from a camera associated with a ticket machine; transmit the first image data to an application server; receive, from the application server, a first command for the ticket machine; cause the ticket machine to provide, based on the first command, a ticket having a scratching area; cause a robotic scratching device to scratch, or remove an opaque substance from, the scratching area of the ticket in accordance with a scratching command; and obtain second image data including an image of the scratching area of the ticket while the robotic scratching device scratches the scratching area.
