Forward and backward rotation of printer cutters
Disclosed is a cutter module to be used with a printing apparatus. The cutter module comprises a blade driving mechanism; and a rotary cutting blade driven by the blade driving mechanism. The blade driving mechanism comprises: a clutch mechanism selectively to enable the blade driving mechanism to drive the rotary cutting blade in a forward cutting direction or a backward direction. Also disclosed is a printing system comprising the cutter module and a method to be used with the cutter module.

The slitter-scorer machine includes a suction unit for removing trims cut by the cutting blades. The first pair of suction nozzles is adapted to suck trims generated by the first set of cutting tools and the second pair of suction nozzles is adapted to suck trims generated by the second set of cutting tools.

The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for converting a sheet into a continuous strip, wherein the apparatus comprises a cutting device with one or more cutting members, one or more drives and a feeding device, wherein the apparatus is provided with one or more sensors for detecting the first longitudinal edge and the second longitudinal edge of the sheet and a control unit that is connected to the one or more drives, the feeding device and the one or more sensors for controlling the movement of the one more cutting members relative to the sheet based on the detection to create a sequence of cuts to form interconnected sheet sections, wherein the control unit is arranged for variably controlling the strip width.
Product roll cutting and handling mechanism and method
A hands-free paper product dispenser has three separate IR emitter and sensor circuits, two controlling the length and/or number of sheets of paper cut and dispensed, and the third used both to safety interlock the cutter mechanism and to control retention of each cut sheet by the dispenser until removed from the dispenser by a user. A novel cutting mechanism and associated upper and lower pinch plates are employed to both hold the paper during cutting and assure a straight and unfrayed cut.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TRIMMING A PRINT SHEET, AND REGISTERING THE LOCATION OF AN IMAGE
An apparatus and method are provided for trimming a print sheet and registering the location of an image on the print sheet. The apparatus may include a sensor system arranged to detect a guide line on the print sheet to align the print sheet relative to a cutter. The sensor system emits first and second light beams through the print sheet, and a controller is configured to detect the presence of the guide line through the light beams to align the guide line on the print sheet relative to the cutter. The apparatus may also include a vacuum chamber extending through a plate, with a float positioned within the vacuum chamber. In a first configuration, a vacuum is drawn in the chamber moving the float within the vacuum chamber away from the base such that a print sheet is moveably receivable between the plate and the base. In a second configuration, a positive pressure is created in the chamber moving the float within the vacuum chamber in a direction towards the base to contact a print sheet positioned between the plate and the base.
