The ambient air purification device is arranged transverse to a longitudinal vehicle axis in an exterior region of the road vehicle at a vehicle rear of the road vehicle in an underfloor region such that at least the filter elements are arranged behind the rear axle of the road vehicle in a travel direction of the road vehicle. The ambient air purification device is received in an installation space of the vehicle frame. The ambient air purification device is flowed through in longitudinal vehicle direction. A free outflow zone of the ambient air purification device is arranged, in travel direction of the road vehicle, behind the ambient air purification device.

An air filter for a ventilation system of a motor vehicle may include a plate-shaped filter body of a folded filter material and at least one sealing strip secured to a lateral edge of the filter body. Adjacent folds of the filter body may be connected to one another via a seam, may follow one another in a longitudinal filter direction, and may extend in a transverse filter direction. The at least one sealing strip may have at least one removal opening penetrating the at least one sealing strip. At least one removal nozzle for removing air flowing through the air filter may be securable to the at least one removal opening.

A climate control system for a vehicle includes a front-end or first heat exchanger configured to thermally condition airflow from an environment external to a vehicle cabin, a rear-end or second heat exchanger configured to thermally condition airflow from the vehicle cabin, a recirculation path configured to return airflow from the second heat exchanger to the vehicle cabin, and an extraction path configured to vent airflow from the second heat exchanger to the environment external to the vehicle cabin. Various operational modes of the climate control system direct airflow to either the recirculation path or the extraction path.

Embodiments herein relate to vehicle filter monitoring systems and methods. In an embodiment, a filter monitoring system is included having a filter sensor device configured to generate data reflecting a filter condition value of a filter and a geolocation circuit configured to determine a present geolocation of a vehicle. The system can also include a system control circuit configured to generate or receive local contaminant concentration values at the present geolocation, evaluate the filter sensor device data to determine at least one of the filter condition value and a change in the filter condition value, and generate at least one of a maintenance recommendation and a routing recommendation based on the local contaminant concentration values, time spent at the geolocation of the vehicle, duty cycle of the vehicle, the filter condition value, and a change in the filter condition value.
