SECUREMENT SYSTEM FOR SECURING CARGO IN AND TO A CARGO AREA OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A cargo securement system for securing cargo items in and to a cargo area of a motor vehicle may include at least one elongated support rail configured to be mounted to and to extend along at least a portion of a length of an inner wall of the at least one of a side, front or rear of the cargo area of the motor vehicle, and at least one cargo restraint module configured to be releasably secured to the at least one elongated support rail, at least a first portion of the at least once cargo restraint module configured to releasably engage at least one cargo item to restrain the at least one cargo item to and within the cargo area of the motor vehicle.
WEB RETRACTOR WITH SIDE, TOP OR BOTTOM WEB EXIT
A web retractor may include a frame with spaced-apart first and second side walls and a bottom wall coupling together the side walls, the frame defining an opening through the first side wall, the second side wall or the bottom wall, a spool rotatably mounted to and between the first and second side walls and spaced apart from the opening, a web having one end mounted to the spool, the spool being rotatable to take up and pay out at least some of the web, and a web deflector mounted to at least one of the first side wall, the second sidewall and the bottom wall and positioned between the spool and the opening, the web deflector configured to guide the web from the spool out of the web retractor through the opening and to guide the web into the retractor and to the spool through the opening.
Cargo strap rolling assembly
A cargo strap rolling assembly for wrapping a cargo strap into a roll for storage includes a grip that includes a handle, a guide and a shaft. A first disk is slidable onto the shaft and a peg is coupled to the first disk. An end of the cargo strap can be wrapped around the peg when the cargo strap is passed through the guide. A second disk engages the peg such that the first disk is rotatably coupled to the second disk. A barrel is slidable onto the shaft and the barrel releasably engages the second disk such that the barrel is rotatably coupled to the second disk. A crank is removably attachable to the barrel for rotating the barrel around the shaft. In this way the cargo strap is wrapped around the barrel to form a roll for storage.
Bungee Belt
Truckers use bungee cords or tarp straps to secure tarps, canvases, and loads on the backs of flatbed trucks and trailers. In some cases, it may take dozens of bungee cords to secure a tarp over the load on a standard flatbed trailer. A bungee belt makes it faster and easier for a trucker to secure a tarp over a load on a flatbed trailer. A bungee belt has belt loops with openings for holding 30 or more bungee cords, allowing the trucker to carry all of the bungee cords for securing a tarp while leaving his or her hands free. The hooks at the ends of the bungee cords fit into the loops, keeping the bungee cords secure while the trucker is wearing the belt. The trucker can remove the bungee cords from the belt one at a time while walking around the flatbed and securing the tarp to the load.
Method for making a reel assembly of a tie-down
A method is executed to make a reel assembly of a tie-down. The method includes the steps of providing a ratchet with teeth and slots, providing a spool with protuberances, connecting the ratchet to the spool by inserting the protuberances of the ratchets in the slots of the spool, and enhancing the connection of the ratchet to the spool.
Tie-down apparatus for securing cargo on a carrier vehicle
An apparatus for securing cargo to a flatbed of a carrier vehicle. The apparatus includes two pulley blocks, the first pulley block and the second pulley block. The first pulley block having a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end having two pulleys arranged side-by-side. The second pulley block having a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end of the second pulley having two pulleys arranged side-by-side. A first strap having a first end coupled to a first hook and the second end is coupled to a proximal end of the first pulley block. A second strap having a second hook at one end and the other end can be inserted into the second block pulley through its proximal end. The free end loops around the pulleys of the two pulley blocks and exits from the first pulley block. The free end of the second strap is having a handle.
Tensioning system
An improved tensioning system and method of restraining cargo is provided. The tensioning system is easy and quick to operate. The tensioning system is compact and minimises space within a cargo bay. The tensioning system allows a greater angular displacement of a tensioning line over conventional tensioning system, such as a ratchet and strap mechanism.
TRANSPORT CART FOR PIECE GOODS
A transport wagon with a loading platform configured to have a loaded state, wherein in the loaded state, cargo may be loaded onto the loading platform and wherein the loading platform extends along a longitudinal axis; a strapping system configured to secure the cargo on the loading platform, wherein the strapping system comprises at least one tensioning means configured to be guided, with the aid of a conveying device, at least partially around the cargo loaded onto the loading platform thereby tensioning the cargo against the loading platform; wherein the loading platform is delimited at a frontal end by transverse side parts comprising the conveying device of the strapping system; and wherein the at least one tensioning means is affixed to the transport wagon and configured to move along the longitudinal axis relative to the loading platform.
Removable Strap Collector
A device is installable on a strap for collecting a free end or excess portion of the strap. The device includes: a base removably securable on a portion of the strap, the base including a bracket located on a first side of the base and securable on the strap and a mount located on a second side of the base; a first leg having a first end and a second end that is distal from the first end, the first leg pivotally attached to the mount at the first end of the first leg; and a reel pivotally attached to the distal end of the first leg. The free end or excess portion of the strap is retained around the reel.
Retractor with space-saving features
A retractor may include various features that reduce the amount of space necessary to secure an object, for example, a wheelchair in a vehicle. In one embodiment, the webbing is designed to come off of the top of the retractor spool, which shifts the webbing take-off point from the spool rearward, as compared to prior art retractors. In another embodiment, the retractor is provided with a webbing guide that rotates around at least a portion of the circumference of the retractor spool. The rotatable guide also shifts the take-off point from the webbing guide rearward, as compared to prior art retractors. In yet another embodiment, the retractor is provided with both a rotatable webbing guide and webbing that comes off of the top of the spool.
