The spindle (8) comprises an inner recess. The winding machine (1) comprises a drive driving the spindle (8) for a rotational movement and a traversing carriage (20). The traversing carriage (20) is supported on the spindle (8) for being movable with a traversing motion (18) in an axial direction relative to the spindle (8). A first coupling element serves for transmitting the rotational movement of the spindle (8) to the traversing carriage (20) and a second coupling element serves for transmitting the traversing motion (18) of the traversing carriage (20) to the spool sleeve (27). The winding machine (1) also comprises an actuation mechanism (30) executing the traversing motion (18). The actuation mechanism (30) is coupled to the traversing carriage (20) for transmitting the traversing motion (18) from the actuation mechanism (30) to the traversing carriage (20). The actuation mechanism (30) extends through the inner recess of the spindle (8).

The restriction device includes a first circular restrictor, a second circular restrictor, a block member and a first push member. A clamping space exists between the first and second circular restrictors mounted on a shaft and is configured to accommodate a reel mounted on the shaft. The second circular restrictor is able to be moved on the shaft in an axial direction, the block member is fixed on the shaft and the first push member is placed between the block member and the second circular restrictor. The first push member is configured to apply a force to push the second circular restrictor toward the first circular restrictor to press a first restriction plate of the reel such that the deformation of the first restriction plate is prevented.

The plurality of arms are pivotally affixed at the lower end about a rod, wherein the rod can removably secure to a power drill. A notch is disposed on the upper end such that the notch faces the rod, wherein the notch can receive a rim of a spool therein. The spool winder further includes a slide lock having a plurality of apertures therein, wherein the plurality of apertures can receive the plurality of arms therethrough. The plurality of arms can move between a closed position and an open position as the slide lock is moved from the upper end towards the lower end. The distance between the upper end of each of the plurality of arms and the rod is greater when the arms are in the open position.

Spool fixation device with bi-stable magnet assemblies

A spool fixation device for use in a wire winding installation, where in this spool fixation device, spools having a magnetically attractable flange are held to a rotatable flange using magnet assemblies. The magnet assemblies can be switched between a hold state and a release state. In a preferred embodiment the magnet assemblies only consume energy when in the release state i.e. when the spool fixation device is not rotating. Alternatively the magnet assemblies can be made to only consume energy when switching states. The magnet assemblies have permanent magnet arrays and are moveable inside a non-magnetic housing. Also a drive pin to transfer torque between rotatable flange and spool is no longer necessary. Therefore the spool fixation devices allows for a smooth changeover of spools.

A spool-securing mechanism is presented herein and comprises a spool-engaging member including a rotation axis thereof, a spool-contacting member comprising a fixed portion fixedly secured to the spool-engaging member about the rotation axis and a mobile portion slidably secured to the spool-engaging member about the rotation axis, the mobile portion being distal and adjacent to the fixed portion, the spool-securing mechanism further comprising a torque member rotatably secured to the spool-engaging member distal to the mobile portion, the torque member comprising at least one radially disposed slot-engaging member, and a locking member secured to a distal end of the spool-engaging member. A kit and a method of use thereof are equally herein presented.
