FALL ARREST DEVICES, AND RELATED METHODS
A fall arrest device comprises a casing with an entry hole for the wire rope, and an exit hole for the wire rope, and a clamping mechanism and an overspeed detector arranged inside the casing. The speed detection mechanism comprises a driven roller arranged to be driven by the wire rope. The driven roller has one or more selected areas to be detected by a sensor, and the device further comprises a motion indicator configured to receive a signal from the sensor when the sensor detects one of the selected areas. The motion indicator is configured to give different indications depending on whether or not the signal is received from the sensor, and such indications are detectable from outside the casing. Methods for operating such a fall arrest device and method for retrofitting fall arrest devices are also disclosed.
VERIFYING CONFIGURATION PARAMETER CHANGES IN AN ELEVATOR SAFETY SYSTEM
A method of verifying configuration parameter changes in an elevator safety system includes detecting (100) a change in one or more of the configuration parameters stored in the memory; putting (102) the elevator system into an out-of-service mode; carrying out (104) a functional test of the elevator safety system to verify an appropriate safety action; and then putting (108) the elevator system back into an in-service mode.
ACTUATOR, REMOTE TRIGGERING DEVICE, GOVERNOR ASSEMBLY AND ELEVATOR
The present invention provides an actuator, a remote triggering apparatus, a governor, and an elevator. The actuator includes: a mandrel, the mandrel having a proximal end and a distal end, and the mandrel being driven to move from a contraction position toward an actuation position; a mandrel sleeve, the mandrel sleeve being sleeved on the distal end of the mandrel; and a shell, the shell defining a channel, wherein the actuator further includes at least one sliding member, and when the mandrel moves from the contraction position toward the actuation position, the at least one sliding member is located at a first radial position where the mandrel is joined to the mandrel sleeve, such that the mandrel sleeve can move along the channel together with the mandrel; and wherein at the actuation position, the at least one sliding member moves outward radially to a second radial position where the mandrel sleeve is joined to the shell, thus locking the mandrel sleeve.
Car speed monitoring assembly for an elevator
A car speed monitoring assembly for an elevator includes an elongated flexible member tensioned to extend in a hoistway of the elevator in a longitudinal direction of the hoistway and first and second rollers mounted rotatably on an elevator car and tensioned against a lateral side of the elongated flexible member. Each roller may roll along a surface of the lateral side of the elongated flexible member based on the elevator car moving relative to the elongated flexible member. The car speed monitoring assembly may detect respective rotation speeds of the first roller and the second roller, trigger one or more particular actions when one or both of these rotation speeds exceeds a limit speed, and trigger the one or more particular actions based on the respective rotation speeds deviating from each other. The one or more particular actions include causing movement of the elevator car to be stopped.
REMOTE TRIGGERING DEVICE, OVERSPEED GOVERNOR ASSEMBLY AND ELEVATOR
The present invention provides a remote trigger device, a speed limiter assembly having the same and an elevator. The remote trigger device for the speed limiter assembly comprises: an actuator; and a rotating component, the rotating component being capable of rotating around a rotating axis in a rotating plane, the rotating component being actuated by the actuator to rotate from an idle position to a working position. During rotation of the speed limiter assembly, at the idle position, the rotating component is kept separated from an over-speed locking mechanism of the speed limiter assembly, and at the working position, the rotating component toggles a trigger member of the over-speed locking mechanism of the speed limiter assembly to trigger the speed limiter assembly. The structure of the remote trigger device according to the present invention is compact and simple.
ELEVATOR
The invention relates to an elevator comprising an elongated hoistway having a longitudinal direction; an elevator car arranged to travel in said hoistway along a path extending in said longitudinal direction; and a car speed monitoring arrangement comprising an elongated flexible member tensioned to extend in said hoistway in said longitudinal direction; a first roller, mounted rotatably on the car and tensioned against a lateral side of the elongated flexible member to roll along the surface thereof when the car moves relative to the elongated flexible member; a second roller, mounted rotatably on the car and tensioned against a lateral side of the elongated flexible member to roll along the surface thereof when the car moves relative to the elongated flexible member; the speed monitoring arrangement being configured to detect rotation speed of the first roller and the rotation speed of the second roller; and to trigger one or more predefined actions when one or both of these rotation speeds exceed a limit speed; and to compare these speeds with each other; and to trigger one or more predefined actions when these rotation speeds deviate from each other; wherein said one or more predefined actions include at least actions for stopping movement of the elevator car.
