The nanoelectrode includes electrode members having free ends exposed within the nanopore or nanochannel structure, an electrode gap defined between of the free ends, and plated portions formed on the free ends to provide a reduced sized for the electrode gap.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a three-dimensionally structured member which can be made by a simpler process. The method for manufacturing a three-dimensionally structured member includes shaping a flat plate-shaped base member to produce a three-dimensionally structured member having a plurality of sections that are different from one another in thickness. The manufacturing method comprises: a mask formation step for forming a mask over the whole of at least one main surface of the base member; a mask removal step for removing a part of the mask; and an etching step for etching an exposed part of the base member wherein a combination of the mask removal step and the etching step is performed on the mask and the base member that correspond to each of the plurality of sections of the three-dimensionally structured member, in the order from thinnest to the thickest of thicknesses of the three-dimensionally structured members.
Method for manufacturing an etch stop layer and MEMS sensor comprising an etch stop layer
The disclosure relates to a method for manufacturing a planarized etch-stop layer, ESL, for a hydrofluoric acid, HF, vapor phase etching process. The method includes providing a first planarized layer on top of a surface of a substrate, the first planarized layer having a patterned and structured metallic material and a filling material. The method further includes depositing on top of the first planarized layer the planarized ESL of an ESL material with low HF etch rate, wherein the planarized ESL has a low surface roughness and a thickness of less than 150 nm, in particular of less than 100 nm.

Magnet placement is described for integrated circuit packages. In one example, a terminal is applied to a magnet. The magnet is then placed on a top layer of a substrate with solder between the terminal and the top layer, and the solder is reflowed to attach the magnet to the substrate.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR LOCALLY REMOVING AND/OR MODIFYING A POLYMER MATERIAL ON A SURFACE
A method for locally removing/modifying a polymer material on a surface of a wafer. The method includes: a) aligning a mask with respect to the surface; b) locally exposing the surface through the mask using a VUV light source while simultaneously supplying a gas mixture containing at least oxygen; c) purging the surface with a gas mixture containing at least nitrogen and oxygen, the VUV light source being switched off; and d) repeating at least steps b) and c) until the removal/modification is complete. A device is described for locally removing/modifying a polymer material on a surface of a wafer, including a mask. The device includes an adjustable wafer table for holding the wafer, and is configured to set an exposure gap between the wafer and the mask in a first operating state, and to set a purge gap between the wafer and the mask in a second operating state.

A highly-ordered nano-structure array, formed on a substrate, mainly comprises a plurality of highly-ordered nano-structure units. Each of the highly-ordered nano-structure units forms a receiving compartment. One end of the receiving compartment opposite to the substrate has an opening. Each of the highly-ordered nano-structure units comprises at least one thin film layer. A periphery and a bottom of the receiving compartment are defined by an inner surface of a surrounding portion of the at least one thin film layer and a top surface of a bottom portion of the at least one thin film layer, respectively. The at least one thin film layer is made of at least one material selected from the group consisting of: metal, alloy, oxide, nitride, and sulfide.

A method for manufacturing a millimeter scale electromechanical device includes coupling a stainless steel ply to a polymer carrier ply, coating the stainless steel ply in a photo resist material, masking the photoresist material, exposing the photoresist material to cure a portion of the photoresist material, developing the photoresist material to remove uncured photoresist material from the stainless steel ply, chemically etching the stainless steel ply to remove a patterned portion of the stainless steel ply, dissolving the polymer carrier ply to release unwanted chips of the stainless steel ply, and adhering the patterned stainless steel ply to a flexible material ply to form a sub-laminate.
