BIOREACTOR FOR THE CULTIVATION OF CELLS
A bioreactor for the cultivation of cells, comprising at least one vessel which is designed to accommodate cells to be cultivated and at least one culture medium in a vessel interior enclosed at least partially by walls of the vessel in relation to an environment, and comprising a movement device which can be connected to a drive unit and at least partially moves the cells to he cultivated or applies a force to same. An elastic element is arranged in the vessel interior, which is configured such that at least one part of the culture medium can he received at least in a region of the elastic element and the cells to he cultivated at least intermittently adhere in and/or on at least sections of the elastic element, and the movement device is designed to at least intermittently deform the elastic element.
Self-Contained Biological Indicator with Salt Compound
The present disclosure is directed to self-contained biological indicators wherein a single type of indicator is capable of being used for various sterilization conditions, including sterilization with steam, hydrogen peroxide, and/or ethylene oxide. In some embodiments, a single type of biological indicator is capable of being used for different steam sterilization conditions having varied temperatures and sterilization cycles.
Apparatuses and systems for preparing a meat product
The apparatuses described herein relate to preparation of a meat product. Apparatuses, systems comprising the apparatuses, and methods of making and use the systems and apparatuses are described herein. These are useful for controlling one or more of growth on and separation of a meat product from an enclosed substrate. The apparatuses and systems are configured to receive fluid and grow the meat product and/or separate the meat product from the substrate in a scalable manner.
Device for the cultivation of and radiation-induced killing of cells and method for analyzing a migration and/or healing of a wound
The invention relates to a device designed for the cultivation and radiation-induced killing of living biological cells. The device comprises a flat substrate and a functional layer for creating a wound in biological cells, said functional layer being applied to the flat substrate. The functional layer contains at least one photosensitizer which is designed to convert triplet oxygen into singlet oxygen by the application of electromagnetic radiation. As a result, biological cells on the functional layer can be killed by irradiation of low-intensity electromagnetic radiation. A wound can be introduced into a cell layer at a locally defined point easily, quickly, carefully, and in a flexible and cost-effective manner and thus the healing of the wound can be studied. The invention further relates to uses of the devices and a method for analyzing a migration and/or wound healing behavior of biological cells.
Sterile packaging unit and method for producing same
A sterile packaging unit includes a disposable bioprocessing component (20) and a packaging (30). The disposable bioprocessing component (20) has a component wall that encloses a processing space and on which is secured a sensor system (40) with at least one sensor head (T, P, I, L, D) and with attached sensor electronics (42) that include a memory unit (44). The packaging (30) hermetically encloses the disposable bioprocessing component (20) and has a flexible packaging wall. The disposable bioprocessing component (20) and the packaging (30). are sterilized by being jointly irradiated with ionizing radiation. The sensor electronics (42) are connected electrically to a contact unit (34) extending through the packaging wall.
Bioengineered vascular network
Provided herein is technology relating to engineered tissues and particularly, but not exclusively, to methods, compositions, and systems for engineering a biosynthetic vascular network.
Test specimen, test chamber, use and method
A test specimen for detecting or determining a spatial distribution of microbes, the test specimen having measuring surfaces and a plurality of microbe collecting elements on each of the measuring surfaces. The invention also relates to a test chamber with such a test specimen, to an associated use and to an associated method.
Sealed Container Provided With A Bi-Material Flange
The invention relates to a sealed container (1) comprising a container body (2) having a through-hole (8) that is delimited by a flange and is closed by a removable door (7) mounted on the flange and an annular seal located between the flange and the door (7), characterized in that the flange consists of two separate concentric sleeves, one of the sleeves defining an outer flange body (5) arranged to allow a connection of the container body (2) to a flange having a complementary shape on an enclosure, the other sleeve defining an inner flange body (6) arranged to allow a connection of the door (7) to the flange, the outer flange body (5) being made entirely or partially of a resistant plastic material selected from plastics that are resistant to autoclave sterilization cycles, while the inner flange body (6) is made of a metal alloy.
CULTURE DEVICE CONTAINING OXYGEN SENSITIVE LUMINOPHORE AND METHODS OF USING
A culture device comprising an oxygen sensitive luminophore, typically an oxygen sensitive phosphor, such as a porphyrin, and methods of use for culturing and enumerating microorganisms
CELL PRODUCTION DEVICE AND CELL PRODUCTION METHOD
This cell production device comprises: a cell production plate that includes a fluid circuit in which a plurality of functional sites are integrated; and a closed type connector that connects the fluid circuit to an external space in a closed manner, wherein the fluid circuit comprises, as the plurality of functional sites, an injection and discharge unit that injects or discharges a fluid into or out of the fluid circuit via the closed type connector, a variable volume unit that stores a fluid that is extruded or withdrawn by the injected or discharged fluid, and a cell induction and culture unit that performs at least one of induction and culture of cells based on the injected fluid.
