GROUND ENGAGING TOOL WEAR AND LOSS DETECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD
An example wear detection system receives a plurality of images from a plurality of sensors associated with a work machine. Individual sensors of the plurality of sensors have respective fields-of-view different from other sensors of the plurality of sensors. The wear detection system identifies a first region of interest and second region of interest associated with the at least one GET. The wear detection system determines a first set of image points and a second set of images points for the at least one GET based on geometric parameters associated with the GET. The wear detection system determines a wear level or loss for the at least one GET based on the GET measurement.
PROTECTION SYSTEMS
A protection system includes a mount for attachment to a wear panel of equipment. The mount includes a first portion which engages the wear panel to be protected and a second portion extending from the first portion which engages an adjacent face to be protected. The second portion has a passage which allows sliding movement of a bolt along the passage. A wear part is releasably mounted to the mount and has a first portion that slidingly engages the first portion of the mount and a second portion that engages the second portion of the mount. The second portion of the wear part has a passage arranged to align with the passage through the second portion of the mount when the wear part and the mount are engaged. A bolt extends through the aligned passages to secure the wear part to the mount via a locking member.
Work implement assembly using a center adapter mating with a notched base edge
An adapter includes a first leg, a second leg, and a throat portion that define a slot defining a direction of assembly onto a work implement assembly, a lateral direction that is perpendicular to the direction of assembly, and a vertical direction that is perpendicular to the direction of assembly and the lateral direction. The throat portion further includes a first throat side surface disposed along the lateral direction and a second throat side surface disposed on the opposite side of the throat portion along the lateral direction. The first throat side surface defines a first adapter cover receiving recess.
Retention system for ripper tips
A work tool or a wear member includes a working portion or a wear portion, a hollow portion that further defines a lock receiving aperture defining an axis of rotation, a radial direction, and a circumferential direction. The axis of rotation is transverse to the direction of assembly of work tool or wear member as the member is slid over a nose portion of a tool adaptor or the like. The axis of rotation is spaced away from the direction the pin receiving thru-hole extends a predetermined distance measured along the direction of assembly.
Article handler
An article handler for attachment to a front end loader, the article handler comprising a support body and a jaw assembly, the support body comprising a proximal end adapted for attachment to the front end loader, and a distal end adapted for attachment of the jaw assembly. The article handler may be adapted to handle, install, and dismount ground engaging tools (GET), such as teeth for excavating buckets.
Vibratory compactor unit
A compaction unit configured for use in the compaction of a surface in connection with construction, excavation and other earth-working or related activities. The compaction unit may be configured as an attachment that can be interchangeably attached to various types of construction machines, operating machines and equipment (such as, but not limited to excavators, backhoes and the like). The compaction unit may be configured as single compaction device capable of performing any combination of (i) vibratory compaction, (ii) roller compaction, (iii) and plate compaction. These capabilities enable the unit to function as a single attachment that can operate as a roller compaction wheel, a vibrating roller compaction wheel, and a vibratory compaction plate depending on the desired application and requirements of the operator.
WEAR MEMBER
A wear member comprising: a housing defining a passageway therethrough and having a longitudinal axis, the housing comprising a housing cavity formed therein, fully recessed from an inner surface of the housing, and opening into the passageway; an insert slidably located within the passageway and defining a longitudinal clearance between the inner surface of the housing and the insert, the insert comprising an insert cavity formed therein, fully recessed from an outer surface of the insert and opening into the passageway; brazing material filling the longitudinal clearance and extending transversely to the longitudinal axis into the housing cavity and insert cavity to provide an axially resistive force against axial movement of the insert relative to the housing in addition to any bonding of the brazing material to the insert and the housing.
DIPPER LIP
A dipper lip includes a first side wing, a second side wing, a rear attachment portion that spans from the first side wing and the second side wing, and a front shovel portion that extends from the first side wing to the second side wing, and the front shovel portion defines a top shovel surface, while the rear attachment portion forms a top rear surface. The top shovel surface forms an obtuse angle with the top rear surface in a midplane of the dipper lip.
EDGE PLATE REMOVAL SYSTEM
An edge plate removal system includes a frame, a set of alignment rods attached to the frame, a set of clamping assemblies attached to the frame, a handle attached to the frame, and a set of lift points attached to the frame. Each alignment rod, of the set of alignment rods, is configured to be inserted into a bore of an edge plate (e.g., a cutting edge) of an implement (e.g., a blade) of a machine. Each clamping assembly, of the set of clamping assemblies, is configured to clamp the edge plate and includes a first clamp and a second clamp, a clamp rod, a set of retention nuts, and a set of tightening nuts. The handle and the set of lift points are configured to facilitate application of a pulling force on the edge plate when the edge plate is clamped by the clamping assembly.
FATIGUE LIFE OPTIMIZED MODULAR BUCKET ASSEMBLY
A fatigue life optimized modular bucket assembly for a work machine and a method of manufacturing thereof are disclosed. The bucket assembly includes a bucket core having a pair of side sections, a continuous wrapper, a supporting element, and a receptacle; and an extension module having a pair of side bars, a guard module, an edge module, and, optionally, a set of extension plates. The method includes prebuilding the bucket core, receiving an order, providing parts for the extension module, and assembling the bucket core and the extension module parts. The bucket assembly may include universal and customizable components without exhibiting reduction to fatigue life commonly associated with weld seams.
