A secondary profile connector for a suspended ceiling system includes a secondary profile associated with the secondary profile connector and a primary profile having a web provided with an opening for reception of the secondary profile connector. The secondary profile connector includes a tongue arrangement insertable into the opening of the web of the primary profile for releasable connection of the secondary profile connector to the primary profile.

Drywall sheet end joint

A suspended ceiling comprising SUSPENDED metal runners in a horizontal plane, the runners each having a horizontal flange having an effective vertical thickness, a plurality of rectangular drywall sheets aligned crosswise to the runners and screwed to the flanges with ends of the drywall sheets forming butt joints midway between adjacent runners, boards overlying butt joints and adjacent flanges, the boards being substantially stiffer than the drywall sheets, whereby the drywall sheet ends are drawn up towards an upper level of the flanges when screwed against the overlying board so that a pseudo taper is formed on the drywall sheet ends.

Building panel adapted to be mounted at a ceiling or wall of a room and method of manufacturing such building panel

The building panel (1) is adapted to be mounted at a ceiling or wall of a room so that a framework (2) of the building panel has a room-facing side (3) and a building-facing side (4). A textile (5) is extended over the room-facing side (3) of the framework (2) and has a first surface (6) facing the framework (2) and a second surface (7) generally visible from said room. A mesh (8) is laminated onto the first surface (6) of the textile (5) and is attached to the framework (2) by means of a number of connectors (9). Each connector (9) has a first end (10) in the form of a gripper inserted between a part of the mesh (8) and the textile (5) and a second end (13) attached to the framework (2).

A suspended ceiling grid main runner is provided that has a cross-section generally in the form of an inverted T, with a central web, a pair of panel support flanges extending from one edge of the web, and a reinforcing bulb extending from the other edge of the web. The main runner includes an integrally-formed interlocking connector, first and second series of longitudinally extending, spaced apart stitches in the web adjacent to the bulb and flanges, hemmed flanges including a cap, and an enlarged reinforcement bulb, which together increase the structural strength of the main runner sufficient to compensate for a reduction in the thickness of the metal strip from which the main runner is formed.

Elongated ceiling grid member and ceiling grid assembly including a plurality of the elongated ceiling grid member

An elongated ceiling grid member and a ceiling grid assembly that includes a plurality of the elongated ceiling grid members are disclosed. The elongated ceiling grid member may include an upper portion, a lower portion and a middle portion that connects the upper portion and the lower portion. The upper portion may include a first pair of spaced and substantially parallel sidewalls having ridged interior surfaces that face each other. Similarly, the lower portion may include a second pair of spaced and substantially parallel sidewalls. Each sidewall of the second pair of sidewalls may include upper and lower ridged interior surfaces, with the distance between the upper ridged interior surfaces being different than the distance between the lower ridged interior surfaces. A plurality of the elongated grid members can be connected at their ends to form a grid of the plurality of elongated grid members.

A cross rail to which one or more battens of a suspended ceiling system can be secured, the cross rail comprising an elongate channel having an upper wall via which one or more ceiling suspension clips are engageable to support the cross rail; opposed lateral walls extending downwardly from the upper wall; and pairs of opposed latching members via which one or more battens are securable to the cross rail, each latching member of a pair extending downwardly from a respective lateral wall such that, in use, a batten is securable substantially perpendicularly to the cross rail between two adjacent pairs of opposed latching members.

Suspension system for flat drywall ceiling

A suspended drywall ceiling grid construction comprising a plurality of uniformly spaced parallel sheet metal support bars, a plurality of spaced grid tees carried on lower sides of the support bars, the support bars having regularly spaced centers for engaging and supporting grid tee reinforcing bulbs, the centers and grid tees being constructed and arranged to present lower faces of flanges of the grid tees in a common plane, the support bars having intermediate centers between said regularly spaced centers for receiving butt joint tees, the intermediate centers and butt joint tees being constructed and arranged to present lower faces of flanges of the butt joint tees in a plane a predetermined distance above the common plane.
