The present invention relates to a device for connecting and separating masonry units, preferably bricks, which comprises a tubular body that fits the tubular shape of holes in the bricks. The device for connecting and separating comprises a portion that has a straight cross-section larger than the cross-section of the tubular body and disposed approximately midway along the length of the connector device, for separating the bricks that said device connects. The device also comprises at least one depression or channel along the entire length of the tubular body, the depression or channel acting as a spring. The connector allows walls to be assembled using only bricks and connectors so as to apply mortar ex post.

They are placed over the top of the form planks used to define the outer periphery of an excavated space to be filled with concrete with a leg abutting the pour side of the plank and (if there is a second leg) a leg abutting the opposite side of the plank so that the upper portion with the hole for receiving a rebar dowel will extend out over the peripheral foundation at right angles to the form planks. In this position, the rebar hole is positioned to receive and hold in position a vertical rebar dowel in upright position.

A rectangular solid shaped riser rises from a ridge located on an upper surface of the body. The thickness of the riser is greater than that of the second side edge. A rectangular extension extends rearwardly from the riser and has a thickness that is greater than that of the second side edge and less than that of the riser. The nose or front portion of the body tapers downwardly from upper to lower surface to a front edge that is parallel with the back edge. The thickness of the front edge is less than that of the first side edge. Inwardly directed diagonal edges connect the first and second side edges with the front edge.
