Automatic locking-deadbolt assembly in a door

A lock assembly for a door includes a lock body having a housing with at least one deadbolt supported in the housing for movement between a retracted position and an extended position and biased toward the extended position by a spring, and a trigger mechanism mounted on the door separate from the lock body for engagement with a door jamb upon closure of the door, said trigger mechanism being adapted to hold the at least one deadbolt in the retracted position when the door is open in opposition to a spring bias, and to permit movement of the at least one deadbolt to the extended position upon engagement of the trigger mechanism with the door jamb.

MORTISE LOCK RESISTANT TO BLUNT FORCE ATTACKS
20230081964 · 2023-03-16 ·

A mortise lockset for a sliding door or double door includes adaptations to make it more resistant to blunt-force attacks. The lockset includes retractable locking hooks, tabs or catches that extend above and below a bolt to securely lock the door. The mechanism, which uses no springs to bias the catches, cams the catches to varying positions as the bolt travels between its retracted and projected positions. Pivotally mounted levers incorporating or carrying the catches include a contoured edge that cams upon cam posts to drive the catches between withdrawn and lockingly engaged positions into or from the bolt. The lockset also includes a channel shaped to cause the thumbturn tail to obstruct retraction caused by blunt forces exerted on the door or doorframe itself, proximate to the bolt.

Passive door lock mechanisms

A lock mechanism for an inactive door includes a housing configured to receive a locking element from an active door lock. A slide is movably received in the housing and includes a drive bar connection element, wherein when the slide is in an unlocked position, the drive bar connection element is located in a path of travel of the deadbolt, and wherein when the slide is in a locked position, the drive bar connection element is located outside the path of travel of the deadbolt. At least one drive bar at least partially received in the housing and is connected to the drive bar connection element. The drive bar is actuated by an actuator located remote from the housing. A blocking element located within the housing, wherein the blocking element prevents movement of the slide from the locked position to the unlocked position.

Latch arrangement having a stop latch

A latch arrangement for fastening a panel of a door or a window to a frame element, the panel including a depression is provided. The latch arrangement includes a locking element pivotally mounted an the frame element and displaceable between a locked position in which the locking element is engaged with the depression of the panel locking thereby the panel to the frame element, and an unlocked position in which the locking element is disengaged from the depression of the panel unlocking thereby the panel from the frame element, a stop latch selectively deployable to secure the locking element in the locked position, precluding thereby displacement of the locking element to the unlocked position; and an actuating mechanism configured to selectively pivot the locking element away from the depression to the unlocked position.

Tamper resistant sash lock

A tamper-resistant sash window lock includes a housing, a shaft, a cam, and a lever member. An interior surface of the housing wall that defines a cavity. A portion of the interior surface of the housing wall is curved about a hole in the housing, with a distal end of the wall portion formed into a lock surface. The shaft is rotatably mounted in the hole, and a hub of the cam is rotatably mounted on the shaft. The cam has a cantilevered arm with a lock surface and an engagement surface. The lever member is fixedly secured to the shaft, for a first side thereof to engage and drive the cam hub in a first rotational direction into a lock position when the shaft is actuated in the first rotational direction, so the lock surface of the cantilevered arm engages the lock surface of the housing preventing forced entry.

An apparatus for locking a panel to a strike jamb includes a synchronous displacement mechanism associated with a locking element (108) which is responsive to part of a closing motion of a panel (104) from an open position towards a closed position to initiate a motion of locking element (108) towards the locked position during the closing motion of the panel prior to the panel reaching its closed position. The synchronous displacement mechanism preferably has a “deadlock state” when the locking element is in the locked position which prevents displacement of the locking element towards the unlocked position.

Adjustable dead-latching bolt mechanism

A latch mechanism having an adjustment mechanism that adjusts the distance to which a latch bolt extends into a mating recess. The adjustment mechanism may include a driver component and a driven component. Rotation of the driver component about a first axis may displace the driven component, thereby causing the position of the latch bolt to be adjusted along a second axis that is non-parallel to the first axis. According to certain embodiments, the first axis is perpendicular to the second axis. The latch mechanism may also include an inner housing that is displaced as the latch bolt is extended into, and retracted from, a mating recess in an adjacent structure. Further, the position of the inner housing may remain generally static as the position of the latch bolt is adjusted along the second axis via operation of the adjustment mechanism.
