Retainer for segmented annular heat shield
A wheel assembly includes an inboard wheel portion having a rim and a disk. A radially inward surface of the rim and an inboard surface of the disk define a wheel well cavity configured to house a brake assembly. The wheel assembly also includes a torque bar (e.g., a torque bar of the brake assembly) mounted to the inboard wheel portion. Further, the wheel assembly includes a retainer coupled to the torque bar and disposed radially between the torque bar and the radially inward surface of the rim of the inboard wheel portion. The retainer includes a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and a body extending between the first end and the second end. The body includes opposing longitudinal sides configured to respectively engage and retain a respective heat shield segment of a segmented annular heat shield.
POWER TOOL
A power tool comprises a motor, a final output shaft, a tool body, a detection device, and a braking device. The motor has a motor body including a stator and a rotor, and a motor shaft extending from the rotor and being rotatable around a first rotational axis. The final output shaft is configured to be rotationally driven around a second rotational axis by torque transmitted from the motor shaft. The tool body houses the motor and the final output shaft. The detection device is configured to detect a locking state of the final output shaft. The braking device is configured to directly act on the motor shaft to brake the motor shaft in response to detection of the locking state.
Rotor drive key assembly
In some examples, an assembly includes a rotor drive key configured to be positioned over a wheel boss defined by a wheel. A drive key body defines a trough configured to receive the wheel boss. An inner surface of the drive key body is configured to establish a conforming contact with an outer profile of the wheel boss and oppose relative motion of the rotor drive key in a radial direction of the wheel. The rotor drive key includes a tab having a tab aperture configured to receive a fastener extending in an axial direction of the wheel and engaging the wheel boss.
Land vehicles incorporating impact management systems
A land vehicle includes a frame structure, a plurality of wheels, and an impact management system. The frame structure includes an operator cage that at least partially defines an operator cabin and a rear compartment positioned rearward of the operator cage in a longitudinal direction. The frame structure includes a pair of rails that each extends in the longitudinal direction from a first end arranged adjacent a pair of front wheels to a second end arranged adjacent a pair of rear wheels. The plurality of wheels are supported by the frame structure. The plurality of wheels includes the pair of front wheels and the pair of rear wheels. The pair of front wheels are positioned forward of the pair of rear wheels in the longitudinal direction.
ROTOR CLIP APPARATUS AND SYSTEMS
A half cap wear clip may comprise: a wear face configured to interface with a torque bar; a first flange disposed on a first side of the wear face and a second flange disposed on a second side of the wear face, the second side opposite the first side; and a deformable feature disposed on a first end of the first flange and the second flange and the wear face, the deformable feature configured to permanently deform a first distance in response to a load on the wear face exceeding a load threshold.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING WEAR PADS
A manufacturing process may comprise: stacking a plurality of friction discs together, each friction disc comprising a lug defining a surface; and depositing a composition to bond to the surface of a first friction disc in the plurality of friction discs to form a wear pad defining a wear surface.
VEHICLE WHEEL AND BRAKE DISC APPARATUS
A wheel and brake disc apparatus of a vehicle includes a roadway wheel and a brake disc mounted rotatably to the vehicle, the roadway wheel and the brake disc arranged about an axis of rotation. The roadway wheel extends radially in relation to the axis of rotation to a wheel rim configured to hold a tire adapted to operate on a roadway surface. The brake disc is inboard of the roadway wheel and extends radially in relation to the axis of rotation to a brake disc rim. A brake caliper assembly mounted at a fixed location over the brake disc rim is configured to squeeze brake pads against the brake disc. The brake disc rim includes a tread configured to operate on a rail without interference from the brake caliper assembly.
Multi-part brake drum
A brake drum for utility vehicles configured to mount rotatably about an axis of rotation and including a friction section and a connection section, wherein the friction section includes a friction surface and a plurality of transmission structures, wherein the connection section comprises at least one mounting surface and a plurality of transfer structures, wherein the transfer structures engage positively and/or nonpositively in the respective complementary transmission structures so that a torque about the axis of rotation can be transmitted positively, and wherein the mounting surface serves to fix the brake drum indirectly or directly to a hub.
Rotor drive key assembly
In some examples, a rotor drive key assembly configured to be positioned on a wheel includes an insert and a rotor drive key. The insert is configured to mate with a wheel boss of the wheel and mechanically connect the rotor drive key with the wheel boss. The rotor drive key is configured to mate with the insert such that the insert limits movement of the rotor drive key relative to the wheel boss in at least a radial direction of the wheel. In some examples, the rotor drive key includes a tab having a tab aperture configured to receive a fastener extending in an axial direction of the wheel and engaging the wheel boss.
Brake disc insert with retainer
In some examples, a drive insert comprises a clip and a retainer. The clip is configured to be slidable over a surface adjacent to a drive slot of a brake disc in a tangential direction of the brake disc. The retainer is configured to be slidable over the clip when the clip is positioned over the surface to secure the clip to the brake disc. In some examples, the clip may comprise a body section and first and second arms extending from the body section. The retainer may comprise first and second legs configured to contact the first arm and the second arm of the clip when the retainer is positioned over the clip. The first and second legs may be resiliently biased to provide an inward clamping force on the clip when the retainer is positioned over the clip.
