Sealed actuator with internal clutching
A sealed actuator with internal clutching assembly including an output shaft, output detent ring, moving detent ring, and a wave spring, which is fit inside a sealed housing. The moving detent ring is able to move axially to the output shaft and the output detent ring is able to rotate on the output shaft. Intermeshing ramped teeth of these rings are held together by a wave spring and allow the output shaft to rotate and transmit torque of a motor through a main gear operably coupled to an output gear mounted on the output shaft to the outside of the housing. During predetermined high loads, the output and moving detent rings ramped teeth create an axial force that overcomes the load from the wave spring, which allows moving detent ring to disengage and output shaft to rotate freely to help prevent damage to the actuator.
ASSEMBLY OF TORSIONAL SPRING TYPE ROLLER JAMMER TORQUE LIMITER
A torque limiter (TL) is provided for torque transmission (TT) to downstream components. The TL includes an input shaft, an output shaft and a torsional spring which is preloadable by a preload torque whereupon the torsional spring is fittable about the output shaft with the output shaft fit about the input shaft. For input shaft rotation, first TT paths proceed from the input shaft to the output shaft through the torsional spring when downstream torque of the downstream components deceeds the preload torque and a second TT path proceeds from the input shaft to an external structure when the downstream torque exceeds the preload torque.
Winch
A small, portable, powered winch that may employ a power drill or socket wrench.
Torque limiting device for fishing reel
A torque limiting device includes a shaft member that is rotatable by torque, a first cam portion, a second cam portion and an urging member. The first cam portion is rotatably mounted to the shaft member. The second cam portion is mounted to the shaft member so as to be unitarily rotatable therewith and be movable along an axial direction of the shaft member. The second cam portion is configured to enable torque transmission between the first cam portion and the second cam portion when engaged with the first cam portion so as to be unitarily rotatable therewith. Additionally, the second cam portion is configured to disable torque transmission between the first cam portion and the second cam portion when disengaged and separated away from the first cam portion along the axial direction. The urging member urges the second cam portion toward the first cam portion.
Torque limiting apparatus and method
A torque limiting apparatus is provided having an input shaft, an output shaft, a housing, a spring, and a length adjustable shank and collar assembly. The input shaft communicates with a rotating end segment having a cam surface. The output shaft communicates with a rotating end segment having a complementary cam surface for engaging with the cam surface of the input shaft. The cam surfaces cooperate to generate separation forces between the respective rotating end segments. The housing encases the first end segment and the second end segment. The spring is supported in the housing, and is configured to oppose the separation forces generated by the cam surfaces, and is configured to urge together the first end segment and the second end segment to remain in rotating coupled engagement. The length adjustable shank and collar assembly is provided between the spring and the housing and is configured to adjust compressive force on the spring to change torque output of the apparatus. A method is also provided.
CLUTCH DEVICE AND MOTOR UNIT
A clutch device includes: an input disk; an output disk; and a biasing member configured to press the input disk and the output disk against each other, the input disk and the output disk contact or separate from each other in an axial direction, and at opposing surfaces thereof, respectively have tooth portions engageable with or disengageable from each other, at each tooth portion, recessed and raised portions extending in a radial direction are alternately provided in a circumferential direction, each of the recessed and raised portions is formed so that a width in the circumferential direction may outwardly expands in the radial direction, and engagement force in the axial direction is greater on an inside of the tooth portions in the radial direction than on the outside when the tooth portions of the input disk and the output disk pressed by the biasing member are fitted in each other.
DEVICE FOR TRANSMITTING A TORQUE FROM AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE TO AN AUXILIARY UNIT
An apparatus for transfer of a torque from an internal combustion engine to an auxiliary unit has an auxiliary unit shaft and a pulley rotatably disposed on the auxiliary unit housing. The pulley and the auxiliary unit shaft are connected with one another by an overload protection device configured to interrupt the connection between the pulley and the auxiliary unit shaft if a predetermined torque is exceeded. The overload protection device has a spring washer having multiple spring arms connected, on the end side, with connection elements of a disk-shaped driver until the predetermined torque is reached. Each connection element is configured as a pocket-shaped mounting in the driver, wherein the respective spring arm end lies against a contact surface of the pocket-shaped mounting under spring tension, with force fit. The respective pocket-shaped mounting is configured as a hook-shaped crosspiece cut out of the driver in certain regions.
Brake roller with one way jaw clutch
A brake roller may comprise a brake shaft and a brake stack assembly located around the brake shaft. A one-way jaw clutch assembly may be configured to apply a force to the brake stack. A roller shell may be located radially outward of the brake stack. The one-way jaw clutch assembly may be configured to vary the force applied to the brake stack in response to a rotation of the roller shell in a circumferential direction.
Displacement-actuated positive-drive clutch
A displacement-actuated positive-drive clutch (10; 20) includes an input member (11; 21) having a positive engagement structure (11d; 21d) provided thereon and an output member (13; 23). A clutch plate (16; 25) is connected for rotation with and for axial movement relative to the output member (13; 23). The clutch plate (16; 25) has a positive engagement structure (16b; 25b) provided thereon that positively engages the positive engagement structure (11d; 21d) provided on the input member (11; 21) to engage the displacement-actuated positive-drive clutch automatically in response to the occurrence of a predetermined amount of relative rotational movement between the input member (11; 21) and the output member (13; 23).
