An auto tensioner is supported on one side surface of a cylinder block 4-(the outer surface of a front wall part) via a bracket. The auto tensioner includes: a tension pulley that is pressed against a belt; an arm that rotatably supports the tension pulley and is swingably supported to the bracket; and a hydraulic actuator that is supported by the arm and bracket to adjust the pressing force of the tension pulley to the belt using a predetermined position of the arm as a supporting point. The hydraulic actuator is disposed outside the water pump 8-on the front wall part of the cylinder block.

CHAIN GUIDE ASSEMBLY FRAME

To provide a simple-structured chain guide assembly frame capable of reliably maintaining a correct positional relationship between a driven sprocket and a sprocket holding portion without the possibility of driven sprocket detachment. The chain guide assembly frame includes a main body having a fixed-guide-side sprocket holding portion and a pivoting-guide-side sprocket holding portion. The fixed-guide-side sprocket holding portion includes a first fixed-guide-side support portion that supports a driven sprocket at a first contact point, and a second fixed-guide-side support portion that supports the driven sprocket at a second contact point located more outside than the first contact point. When the driven sprocket is in an erected state in which the driven sprocket is supported at the first contact point and second contact point, the vector of gravity acting on the gravity center of the driven sprocket points between the first contact point and second contact point.

A belt-tensioning device, in particular for an internal combustion engine, the belt-tensioning device including a bearing housing having a latching recess, a tensioning roller, a pivoting arm and a locking device. The pivoting arm is mounted on the bearing housing, the pivoting arm being under a torsion spring load. The tensioning roller being coupled to the pivoting arm. The locking device having a first latching device and a second latching device. The first latching device and the second latching device being coupled with the pivoting arm. The latching recess interacts with at least one of the first latching device and the second latching device wherein the locking device is configured in such a way that the pivoting arm can be locked by the locking device in different predefined latching positions and the pivoting arm can be pivoted with predefined freedom in an operating position.

Tensioner

A tensioner comprising a base having a shaft and having a radially projecting tab therefrom, a pivot arm pivotally engaged with the shaft about a pivot axis A-A, a torsion spring disposed between the base and the pivot arm, the torsion spring in a compressed state, a pulley journalled to the pivot arm, a first axial member extending from the pivot arm, the first axial member comprising a radially projecting portion adjacent to a radially receding portion, and the radially projecting portion engaging the radially projecting tab in a first pivot arm position and the radially receding portion cooperating with the radially projecting tab in a second pivot arm position.

PULLEY DEVICE FOR A BELT, INSTALLATION METHOD OF SUCH A DEVICE AND MOTOR VEHICLE EQUIPPED WITH SUCH A DEVICE

A pulley device for a belt that includes an eccentric adjusting member fixed on a support, an eccentric hub rotatably mounted on the eccentric adjusting member, a torsion spring between the eccentric adjusting member and hub to exert a biasing force, and a pulley rotatably mounted on the hub. The hub provides an upper radial surface and the eccentric adjusting member provides a radially outwardly projecting flange formed at an upper end of the eccentric adjusting member and forming an axial abutment for the upper radial surface. The upper radial surface provides a pair of axially projected stops formed integrally within, each stop being dedicated to come into abutment against a corresponding stop provided by the radially outwardly projecting flange of the eccentric adjusting member. The hub further provides engaging means adapted to cooperate with an external tool, the engaging means circumferentially located between the projected stops of the hub.

METHOD(S) TO APPLY TENSION TO INCREASE DRIVETRAIN JUMP TORQUE CAPACITY

A chain tensioning device which combats natural build-up of chain slack. In controlling the chain slack, the torque at which a chain jumps occurs is delayed resulting in a higher jump torque performance.

Timing belt tensioner with improved construction

In an aspect, a tensioner is provided for an endless drive member, and includes a shaft-and-base unit, a tensioner arm, a pulley, and a tensioner spring. The shaft-and-base unit is mountable to be stationary relative to an engine, and includes a fastener aperture for a fastener. The tensioner arm is pivotable relative to the shaft-and-base unit about a tensioner arm axis. The pulley is rotatably mounted to the tensioner arm for rotation and is engageable with an endless drive member. The tensioner spring is positioned to urge the tensioner arm in a first direction relative to the shaft-and-base unit. The tensioner spring includes a plurality of coils that are arranged generally helically about a longitudinal axis and are spaced radially from one another and generally increase in distance away from the axis in a longitudinal direction.

TENSIONING DEVICE WITH A SINGLE SECURING RING

A tensioning device, more particularly a hydraulically actuated chain tensioner, for a chain drive of an internal combustion engine, having a tensioner housing, a tensioning piston which is displaceably guided in a piston bore of the tensioner housing and has a piston skirt, a transport securing means for fastening the tensioning piston in the tensioner housing, a adjustment apparatus for incrementally adjusting and limiting the working range of the tensioning piston, and a final position securing means for the captive arrangement of the tensioning piston in the piston bore. The transport securing means, the adjustment apparatus and the final position securing means together have a single securing ring for fastening the tensioning piston in the tensioner housing, the incremental adjustment and limiting of the working range of the tensioning piston and the captive arrangement of the tensioning piston. A chain drive, more particularly a control chain drive, of an internal combustion engine, having such a tensioning device is also provided.

Tensioner lever

An object of the present invention is to provide a tensioner lever that can reduce vibration and noise when the chain runs, and realize smooth attachment into an engine with minimal deformation of the lever body with a simple configuration. A tensioner lever according to the present invention includes a lever body and a torsion coil spring pressed the lever body toward the chain.
