System for a belt tensioner

Systems are provided for a belt tensioner. In one example, the belt tensioner comprises a fluid chamber divided into a first portion and a second portion via a dividing wall. An eccentric housing, which defines the fluid chamber, rotates relative to the dividing wall based on a spring force and a belt force.

Tensioner with increased damping

In an aspect, a tensioner for an endless drive member, comprising a shaft and base that are mountable to be stationary relative to an engine, a tensioner arm that is pivotable relative to the shaft about a tensioner arm axis, a pulley on the tensioner arm rotatable about a pulley axis that is offset from the tensioner arm axis, and that is engageable with an endless drive member, a bushing that is positioned radially between the pulley and the tensioner arm to support the pulley radially during relative rotation between the pulley and the tensioner arm, a tensioner spring that is positioned to urge the tensioner arm towards a free arm position, a damping element that engages the tensioner arm and that is engaged by a plurality of axially spaced segments of the tensioner spring.

A belt tensioner for use with a bike is provided. The bike includes a frame and a belt. The frame includes a chain stay and a seat stay having a top surface and bottom surface. The belt tensioner includes a tensioner skeleton, a roller and a tension regulator. The tensioner skeleton is pivotally connected to the chain stay or the seat stay. An included angle is formed between the tensioner skeleton and chain stay or the seat stay. The roller is pivotally connected to the tensioner skeleton and in contact with the belt. The tension regulator presses against the belt to adjust tension of the belt. The tension regulator is disposed at an end of the tensioner skeleton, and the end of the tensioner skeleton is positioned distal to the bottom surface.

Adjustable bracket to adjust front end accessory drive for use with stretch fit belt

The disclosed inventive concept provides an adjustable and lockable bracket assembly that allows a stretch fit belt to be installed loosely on the pulleys of an accessory drive system. The assembly includes a fixed bracket attached to the engine, a pivoting and lockable bracket attached to the fixed bracket and an adjustable driven unit, an adjustable arm for moving the adjustable driven unit between a belt install position allowing attachment of the belt and a final position for stretching the attached belt, and a rotatable insert having an offset threaded hole with a threaded fastener attached to the adjustable arm for moving the driven unit between the belt install and final positions. In the belt install position, the stretch fit belt may be fitted over the FEAD pulleys. Once in position, the rotatable insert is rotated to move the driven unit to the final position again via the adjustable arm.

A tension control mechanism includes a drive wheel and a jack wheel rotatably mounted with respect to a chassis of a self-propelled power tool. An idler arm is pivotally mounted to the chassis and carries an idler wheel. A flexible drive member entrains the drive wheel and the jack wheel and drives the idler wheel. First and second bias members bias the idler arm in opposing rotational directions, which move the idler wheel toward or away from the flexible drive member to respectively increase or decrease tension. A ratchet arm is attached to the idler arm has a hook. A ratchet head is fixed to the chassis and has ratchet teeth for engaging the hook to permit relative motion between the hook and the ratchet teeth to increase tension, and to limit relative motion between the hook and the ratchet teeth to prevent an excessive decrease in tension.
