Hybrid structure using graphene-carbon nanotube and perovskite solar cell using the same
Disclosed are a hybrid structure using a graphene-carbon nanotube and a perovskite solar cell using the same. The hybrid structure includes a graphene-carbon nanotube formed by laminating a second graphene coated with a polymer on an upper surface of a first graphene coated with a carbon nanotube. The perovskite solar cell includes: a substrate; a first electrode formed on the substrate and including a fluorine doped thin oxide (FTO); an electron transfer layer formed on the first electrode and including a compact-titanium oxide (c-TiO.sub.2); a mesoporous-titanium oxide (m-TiO.sub.2) formed on the electron transfer layer; a perovskite layer formed on the m-TiO.sub.2 and including a perovskite compound; and a graphene-carbon nanotube hybrid structure formed on the perovskite layer.
Photoelectric conversion layer, solar cell, multi-junction solar cell, solar cell module, and photovoltaic power system
The photoelectric conversion layer of an embodiment is based on Cu.sub.2O, contains at least one p-type dopant selected from the group consisting of Ge, Ta, and In, and has a band gap of equal to or more than 2.10 eV and equal to or less than 2.30 eV.
High Rate Sputter Deposition of Alkali Metal-Containing Precursor Films Useful to Fabricate Chalcogenide Semiconductors
The present invention provides methods to sputter deposit films comprising alkali metal compounds. At least one target comprising one or more alkali metal compounds and at least one metallic component is sputtered to form one or more corresponding sputtered films. The at least one target has an atomic ratio of the alkali metal compound to the at least one metallic component in the range from 15:85 to 85:15. The sputtered film(s) incorporating such alkali metal compounds are incorporated into a precursor structure also comprising one or more chalcogenide precursor films. The precursor structure is heated in the presence of at least one chalcogen to form a chalcogenide semiconductor. The resultant chalcogenide semiconductor comprises up to 2 atomic percent of alkali metal content, wherein at least a major portion of the alkali metal content of the resultant chalcogenide semiconductor is derived from the sputtered film(s) incorporating the alkali metal compound(s). The chalcogenide semiconductors are useful in microelectronic devices, including solar cells.
Fabricating thin-film optoelectronic devices with added potassium
A method (200) and deposition zone apparatus (300) for fabricating thin-film optoelectronic devices (100), the method comprising: providing a potassium-nondiffusing substrate (110), forming a back-contact layer (120); forming at least one absorber layer (130) made of an ABC chalcogenide material, adding at least two different alkali metals, and forming at least one front-contact layer (150) wherein one of said at least two different alkali metals is potassium and where, following forming said front-contact layer, in the interval of layers (470) from back-contact layer (120), exclusive, to front-contact layer (150), inclusive, the comprised amounts resulting from adding at least two different alkali metals are, for potassium, in the range of 500 to 10000 ppm and, for the other of said at least two different alkali metals, in the range of 5 to 2000 ppm and at most ½ and at least 1/2000 of the comprised amount of potassium. The method (200) and apparatus (300) are advantageous for more environmentally-friendly production of photovoltaic devices (100) on flexible substrates with high photovoltaic conversion efficiency and faster production rate.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A LARGE-AREA THIN FILM SOLAR CELL
A method for manufacturing a large-area thin film solar cell includes the steps of: (a) forming a first contact layer on a substrate; (b) forming a multi-layer metal precursor film on the first contact layer, which includes the sub-steps of (b1) sputtering a first multinary metal precursor layer on the first contact layer, the first multinary metal precursor layer containing Cu, Ga and KF, and (b2) sputtering an In-containing precursor layer on the first multinary metal precursor layer; and (c) subjecting the multi-layer metal precursor film to selenization to form an absorber layer having a chalcopyrite phase.
Fabricating thin-film optoelectronic devices with added rubidium and/or cesium
A method for fabricating thin-film optoelectronic devices (100), the method comprising: providing a alkali-nondiffusing substrate (110), forming a back-contact layer (120); forming at least one absorber layer (130) made of an ABC chalcogenide material, adding least one and advantageously at least two different alkali metals, and forming at least one front-contact layer (150) wherein one of said alkali metals comprise Rb and/or Cs and where, following forming said front-contact layer, in the interval of layers (470) from back-contact layer (120), exclusive, to front-contact layer (150), inclusive, the comprised amounts resulting from adding alkali metals are, for Rb and/or Cs, in the range of 500 to 10000 ppm and, for the other alkali metals, typically Na or K, in the range of 5 to 2000 ppm and at most ½ and at least 1/2000 of the comprised amount of Rb and/or Cs. The method (200) is advantageous for more environmentally-friendly production of photovoltaic devices on flexible substrates with high photovoltaic conversion efficiency and faster production rate.
Manufacture of N-type chalcogenide compositions and their uses in photovoltaic devices
A layer of an n-type chalcogenide compositions provided on a substrate in the presence of an oxidizing gas in an amount sufficient to provide a resistivity to the layer that is less than the resistivity a layer deposited under identical conditions but in the substantial absence of oxygen.
Layer Structure for a Thin-Film Solar Cell and Production Method
A layer structure for a thin-film solar cell and production method are provided. The layer structure for the thin-film solar cell includes a photovoltaic absorber layer doped, at least in a region which borders a surface of the photovoltaic absorber layer, with at least one alkali metal. The layer structure has an oxidic passivating layer on the surface of the photovoltaic absorber layer, which is designed to protect the photovoltaic absorber layer from corrosion.
Thin-film solar module with improved shunt resistance
A thin-film solar module with a substrate and a layer structure applied thereon. The layer structure has a rear electrode layer, a front electrode layer, and an absorber layer arranged between the rear electrode layer and the front electrode layer. The absorber layer has doping of a first conductor type, while the front electrode layer has doping of a second conductor type. Serially connected solar cells are formed in the layer structure by patterning zones having a first patterning trench subdividing the rear electrode layer, a second patterning trench subdividing the absorber layer, and a third patterning trench subdividing the front electrode layer.
