Specifically, the incoming communication processing system allows outside parties to initiate communications to residents of a controlled facility. The incoming communication processing system may work in conjunction with or separately from an outgoing communication processing system. Many restrictions and safeguards may be implemented within the incoming communication system in order to prevent improper use.

Tangible, non-transitory, machine-readable media include instructions that cause a processor to receive a first indication that a user is attempting to communicate with a provider, and intercept communication between the user and the provider based on the first indication being received. The instructions also cause the processor to send user information to a provider application server based on the first indication being received, and display a visual interface that establishes communication with the relevant provider department or performs a transaction based on the first indication being received. The instructions further cause the processor to receive a second indication associated with performing the action associated with the provider via the visual interface; and performing the action based on the second indication being received.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PERSONALIZING THE LANGUAGE ASSOCIATED WITH OUTBOUND CALLS
An approach is described for facilitating an outbound call from a calling party and a called party by displaying specific information on the communication device of the called party. The displayed specific information is based on a communication characteristic of the called party, where the communication characteristic includes a language characteristic of the called party. Based on language characteristic of the called party, customized display content is provided to the communications device of the called party, on or prior to the called party being alerted to the requested communication. The customized display content improves the answer rate and the conversion rate of the outbound call.

Systems and methods are described herein for a computer-based communication application that displays, along with an incoming call notification, content specific to the parties involved. The application identifies electronic records of events attended by the users, and retrieves content specific to those records. For example, the application may identify electronic mail or meeting notifications sent between the users and concerning a particular subject matter. Images related to that subject matter are then retrieved and displayed during calls between those users. Users are thus presented with customized and personalized content specific to the subject matter of each call, thus helping them better recognize callers and more readily engage with the call.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR HANDLING CITIZEN CALLBACK OF A PUBLIC-SAFETY OFFICER
A method for routing civilian calls to a public-safety officer is provided herein. During operation, a call processor receives a civilian call having a source identifier number identifying a source of the call and a target identifier number identifying a target of the call. A public-safety officer is determined that is the target of the call and a public-safety officer status database is accessed to determine a current status of the public-safety officer. When the officer is able to take the call, the call is routed directly to the officer. When the officer is unable to take the call, the officer status database is accessed, and a best available officer to take the call is determined. The call is then routed to the best available officer that is able to take the call.
Email alert for unauthorized email
The disclosed techniques enable selective forwarding and blocking of messages directed to an alias email address based on a whitelist, as well as email alerts triggered by emails from unauthorized senders. More generally, the disclosed techniques enable an enterprise system to store contact emails for users (i.e., alias email addresses) while avoiding storing and managing personal email addresses for the user. For example, the enterprise system may forward personal email addresses to an aliasing server configured to generate alias email addresses based on the personal email addresses. The aliasing server may operate as a “middle man” that receives emails directed to the alias email addresses and that forwards the emails to the personal email addresses (when appropriate). The enterprise system may store and maintain the alias email addresses in lieu of the personal email addresses.

Multi-source compilation profiles for targeted content sourcing
In at least one embodiment, a profile/content system generates, accesses, and/or serves a compilation profile for targeting content to identifiable communication devices (“ICDs”). The compilation profile can include data associated with a user of an ICD, and the profile/content system obtains the data from multiple data sources. The data sources can include a particular ICD and can also include particular applications running on the ICD and other data sources such as web sites and data aggregators that store data associated with the IDC user. The profile/content system can operate in a variety of modes depending upon a type of request received by the profile/content system. Exemplary modes are: (1) a direct content provision mode, (2) an indirect content provision mode, and (3) a compilation profile provision mode. In at least one embodiment, in the direct content provision mode, the profile/content system receives a request for content directly via an ICD.
TECHNIQUE FOR EFFECTIVE ORGANIZATION AND COMMUNICATION OF INFORMATION
In a communication arrangement in accordance with the invention, a server is employed to collect and organize information for mobile device users according to the user profiles, e.g., personal profile, business profile, vacation profile, etc., which reflect different user personae. By using this arrangement, the user advantageously maintains only the necessary information in the mobile device and downloads any additional information from the server on an as needed basis. In addition, the server is capable of serving mobile devices which may be incompatible to one another, thereby facilitating an exchange of information between such devices. Moreover, with the server, incoming messages for the user are organized and stored according to the source of the messages and the user criteria established in the user profiles. Further, information in a mobile device may be organized using electronic information cards, referred to as “E-cards,” which facilitate, among others, transfer of information from the mobile device to the server, or other mobile devices to conduct various commercial and data transactions.
