A transmitting apparatus includes a communication interface that transmits data according to a transmission job, and a controller having one or more processors which executes instructions stored in one or more memories. The controller is configured to set a setting of outputting of a transmission report indicating a transmission result of the transmission job as a device setting of the apparatus, set the setting of outputting of the transmission report as a setting of the transmission job, and set whether or not to accept the setting of outputting of the transmission report of the transmission job as the device setting of the apparatus.

Method and system are described for fax transmission distribution by an online fax service provider. In one embodiment, an electronic document is received, over a computer network, to be routed to a fax telephone number. A request is transmitted to an online database to determine whether the fax telephone number is registered to not receive incoming fax transmissions over a circuit-switched network. In response to determining that the fax telephone number is registered, the electronic document is transmitted to a destination address. In response to determining that the fax telephone number is not registered, an outgoing call is placed to the fax telephone number and the electronic document is transmitted in a fax format over the outgoing call.

Embodiments of systems and methods for the sending, delivery and receiving of faxes according to particular protocols are disclosed. Certain embodiments may receive a fax from a sender and determine if the ability exists to send the fax over a computer based network according to a particular protocol. If there is no destination associated with the fax number for the protocol the fax may be sent according to the fax number. If, however, there is a destination for the protocol associated with the fax number an attempt is made to send the fax to the destination according to the protocol.

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to, in a case where data is stored into a first storage area set in advance to store data and associated with a first network interface and a condition specified in advance is satisfied, copy the data from the first storage area into a second storage area set in advance to store data and associated with a second network interface, and output the data in a predetermined transmission mode.

An image forming apparatus includes a setting unit, a displaying unit, a receiving unit, and a printing unit. The setting unit accepts designation of source information from a user and set the accepted source information in association with an object. The displaying unit displays the object. The receiving unit receives image data from an external apparatus. The printing unit prints an image on a sheet based on the image data received by the receiving unit. Upon selection of the object displayed on the displaying unit, the printing unit prints an image on a sheet based on the image data from among the image data received by the receiving unit, that is received from an external apparatus having source information corresponding to the source information associated with the object.

Method and system are described for fax transmission distribution by an online fax service provider. In one embodiment, an electronic document is received, over a computer network, to be routed to a fax telephone number. Methods and system are described for fax transmission distribution. In one embodiment, the electronic message receives, over a circuit-switched network, an incoming call signal that identifies a fax telephone number as an outbound address, where the fax telephone number is uniquely and permanently associated to a user. The device receives an incoming fax transmission associated with the incoming call signal, where the incoming fax transmission includes a fax message in a fax suitable format, where the fax message is associated with the user. The device transmits, over a computer network, an electronic message that includes the fax message and the fax telephone number to a destination address based on the fax telephone number.

A non-transitory storage medium stores a program set readable by a computer of a first information processing apparatus. The program set including a first program and a second program. The first program causes the first information processing apparatus to start the second program, and register the started second program, as a virtual scanner, in an operating system of the first information processing apparatus. The second program causes the first information processing apparatus to transmit a scan command of the first protocol to the external scanner, and receive a read result from the external scanner by the first protocol through the communication interface. The external scanner reads a document in response to receipt of the scan command transmitted from the information processing apparatus.

Embodiments of systems and methods for the sending, delivery and receiving of faxes are disclosed herein. In particular, certain embodiments include a fax connector that may be deployed at a user's site, and a faxing system that may be deployed remotely from the user's site. The fax connector can be accessed at the user's site over a computer based network in order to perform functions associated with faxing, including sending, receiving and obtaining status on faxes. The fax connector deployed at the user's site communicates with the remotely deployed faxing system to send, receive, obtain status on, or perform other functions associated with, faxing.

A method of controlling an image processing apparatus that communicates with a chat service includes storing information on a transmission source of image data and a talk room in the chat service in association with each other, receiving image data, transferring the received image data to a stored transfer destination in association with the information on the transmission source of the image data, and notifying the talk room, stored in association with the information on the transmission source of the image data, that the image data has been received.
