Efficient assembly of triple pane windows

This invention describes an apparatus for assembling triple pane insulating glass units from a plurality of insulating spacer frames having sealant or adhesive applied to opposite sides of said spacer frames.

System and method for manufacturing a wind turbine blade

A manufacturing method for a wind turbine blade is described which utilizes a post-moulding station in the manufacturing process. A blade shell forming part of a wind turbine blade is initially moulded in a blade mould, the blade shell subsequently transferred to a post-moulding station which allows for various post-moulding operations to be carried out on the blade shell away from the mould, thereby increasing the productivity of the blade mould in the manufacturing process. The post-moulding station may be operable to perform the closing of first and second blade shells to form a wind turbine blade, and may be formed from an adjustable structure which can provide relatively easy access to the contained blade shell for working thereon. Accordingly, the manufacturing equipment may be of reduced cost, combined with an increase in the overall productivity of the manufacturing system.

This invention describes a process flow and method to assemble triple IG units without contaminating the center glass lite. A non-contact vacuum pad is used to lift a glass lite off from a horizontal or vertical support that conveys it from a glass washer to an assembly station. Each of multiple pads has a capacity to lift approximately seven to ten pounds. Use of multiple pads per glass sheet or lite allows lites having dimensions up to 70 by 100 inches (assuming glass thickness of one quarter inch) to be assembled.

A modular production system and method includes an endless transport path defining a loop. A plurality of work cells in which processes are performed on a workplace are disposed in a sequence along the transport path. The work cells include an inner spot welding cell, an inner remote laser welding cell, and an outer roller flanging and laser welding cell. A transporter follows the transport path and selectively transfers the workplace between the work cells along the transport path. The transporter selects at least some of the work cells and makes a stop at the selected work cells, and the transporter bypasses any unselected work cells.

Apparatus and method for automated handle installation

Embodiments of the present invention relate to an apparatus and method for high speed automated installation or attachment of preformed handles onto portable containers such as buckets, boxes, cartons, or pails that are moving on a conveyor system through the apparatus. A frame structure supports the apparatus. A container conveyor conveys the portable containers into and out of the apparatus. A handle sheet conveyor conveys sheets of preformed handles from storage containers into a handle magazine. Individual handles are detached from the preformed handle sheets, after which the handles are attached onto the portable containers at a high rate of speed. A slidable handle separation and insertion mechanism includes a main slide for preforming the handles prior to insertion onto the portable containers. In some embodiments the main slide is angled at approximately a 45 degree angle from the horizontal.
