Abstract
The present invention relates to compounds of the formula (I) (Rf-CHFCF.sub.2CHR).sub.m-L-(X).sub.n, where Rf=a perfluorinated alkyl group, optionally containing heteroatoms, R=H or an alkyl group, L=a single bond or a divalent organic group, X=an anchor group, m is 1 and n is 1, and to the use thereof in, for example, dirt-repellent coatings.
Claims
1. A compound of the formula (I)
(Rf-CHFCF.sub.2CHR).sub.m-L-(X).sub.n(I) where a) Rf is a group selected from CF.sub.3(CF.sub.2).sub.0-3O(CF.sub.2).sub.1-3, CF.sub.3(CF.sub.2).sub.0-3O(CF.sub.2).sub.1-3O, CF.sub.3(CF.sub.2).sub.0-3O(CF.sub.2).sub.1-3OCF.sub.2, CF.sub.3(CF.sub.2).sub.0-3O(CF.sub.2O).sub.1-8 and CF.sub.3(CF.sub.2).sub.0-3O(CF.sub.2O).sub.1-8CF.sub.2 R=H or an alkyl group, L=a single bond or a saturated, branched or unbranched alkylene group, optionally containing heteroatoms and/or functional groups, X=an ethylenically unsaturated group, an alkoxysilane group, a silanol group or a halosilane group, m is 1 and n is 1 or b) Rf is CF.sub.3(CF.sub.2).sub.0-3, R=an alkyl group, L=a single bond or a saturated, branched or unbranched alkylene group, optionally containing heteroatoms and/or functional groups, X=an alkoxysilane group, a silanol group or a halosilane group, m is 1 and n is 1, or c) Rf is where CF.sub.3(CF.sub.2).sub.0-3O the compounds conform to the formulae (III) to (VIII) where R=C.sub.1-C.sub.4-alkyl and R=H or an alkyl group, ##STR00019## where R=C1-C4-alkyl and R=H or an alkyl group.
2. A compound according to claim 1, wherein Rf is CF.sub.3(CF.sub.2).sub.1-2O, CF.sub.3O(CF.sub.2).sub.1-2, CF.sub.3O(CF.sub.2).sub.1-3O, CF.sub.3(CF.sub.2).sub.1-2OCF.sub.2, CF.sub.3O(CF.sub.2).sub.1-2OCF.sub.2, CF.sub.3O(CF.sub.2O).sub.1-8 and CF.sub.3O(CF.sub.2O).sub.1-8CF.sub.2.
3. A compound according to claim 1, wherein R in a) is equal to H or C1-C3 alkyl.
4. A compound according to claim 1, wherein R in a) is equal to H or a methyl group.
5. A compound according to claim 1, wherein L is a saturated, branched or unbranched alkylene group, optionally containing heteroatoms and/or functional groups.
6. A compound according to claim 1, wherein X is an ethylenically unsaturated group, an alkoxysilane group, or a halosilane group.
7. A compound according to claim 1, wherein X is an acrylate or methacrylate group.
8. A compound according to claim 1, wherein X is equal to SiR.sub.3, where the groups R are, independently of one another, equal to alkyl, OH, halogen, alkoxy or aryloxy, where at least one group R is not an alkyl group.
9. A compound according to claim 8, wherein R an alkoxy group OR, where R equal to C1-C4-alkyl.
10. A compound according to claim 9, wherein R is equal to C1- or C2-alkyl.
11. A compound according to claim 1, wherein m and n, independently of one another, are equal to 1-3.
12. A compound according to claim 1, of formulae ##STR00020## where Rf=a group selected from CF.sub.3(CF.sub.2).sub.0-3O(CF.sub.2).sub.1-3, CF.sub.3(CF.sub.2).sub.0-3O(CF.sub.2).sub.1-3O, CF.sub.3(CF.sub.2).sub.0-3O(CF.sub.2).sub.1-3OCF.sub.2, CF.sub.3(CF.sub.2).sub.0-3O(CF.sub.2O).sub.1-8 and CF.sub.3(CF.sub.2).sub.0-3O(CF.sub.2O).sub.1-8CF.sub.2, R=C1-C4-alkyl and R=H or an alkyl group.
13. A compound according to claim 12, wherein Rf is equal to CF.sub.3(CF.sub.2).sub.1-2O, CF.sub.3O(CF.sub.2).sub.1-2 or CF.sub.3O(CF.sub.2).sub.1-3O.
14. A compound according to claim 1, that is ##STR00021##
15. A composition comprising at least one compounds according to claim 1 and a support which is suitable for the respective application and optionally further additives.
16. A coated article whose coating has been produced using at least one compound according to claim 1.
17. A method for the production of functional coatings and surface modifications, which comprises including a compound according to claim 1 in a functional coating or surface modification.
18. A process for the degradation of fluorine-containing compounds of claim 1 comprising the following steps: a) biological and/or abiotic degradation of the carbon skeleton of the fluorine-containing compounds with formation of fluorine-containing compounds, b) conversion of the fluorine-containing compounds formed in step a) into a gas phase, c) degradation of the fluorine-containing compounds formed in step a) into low-molecular-weight compounds by UV irradiation in the gas phase, d) conversion of the low-molecular-weight compounds formed in step c) from the gas phase into a liquid and/or solid phase, e) mineralisation of the low-molecular-weight compounds formed in step c) in the liquid and/or solid phase.

Example 1: Synthesis of the Compound of Formula (IVa)

(6) 5 g of decafluoropentene are stirred with 8 g of ethanol and 0.2 g of benzoyl peroxide at 100 C. in an autoclave for 18 h. The crude product is distilled. Yield: 2.5 g b.p. 50 C. at 3.5 mbar.
(7) The hydrofluoroalcohol is warmed under reflux at 110 C. with methacrylic acid and toluene on a water separator for 24 h. The catalyst employed is p-toluenesulfonic acid and TEMPO.
(8) The product is subsequently distilled.
Example 2: Synthesis of the Compound of the Formula (IIIa)

(10) 4.0 g of 2,3-epoxypropyl methacrylate and 10.9 g of 2,2,3-trifluoro-3-heptafluoropropyloxypropan-1-ol are initially introduced in a two-necked flask. 3.2 g of potassium tert-butoxide in 20.3 g of THF are added dropwise with cooling. The reaction mixture is subsequently heated to 100 C. and stirred at this temperature for 24 h.
(11) 20 ml of water and 20 ml of MTBE are added to the reaction mixture, and the phases are separated. The aqueous phase is extracted with 230 ml of MTBE, and the combined organic phase is washed with 40 ml of water and 40 ml of saturated NaCl solution. The extract is dried over sodium sulfate, and the solvent is distilled.

(17) After cooling to room temperature, 10 ml of water and 10 ml of MTBE are added to the reaction mixture, and the phases are separated. The aqueous phase is extracted with 230 ml of MTBE, and the combined organic phase is washed with 40 ml of water and 40 ml of saturated NaCl solution. The extract is dried over sodium sulfate, and the solvent is distilled.

(22) 75 ml of water are added to the mixture, the phases are separated, and the organic phase is in each case washed with 220 ml of MTBE. The combined organic phase is dried over sodium sulfate, and the solvent is distilled. The substance is purified by column chromatography.

(43) 10 ml of water and 20 ml of MTBE are added to the batch, and the phases are separated. The aqueous phase is extracted with 220 ml of MTBE, and the combined org. phases are washed with 25 ml of water.

The 2.0 ml of trichlorosilane are slowly added dropwise via a syringe (IT<5 C.). The batch is heated to 56 C. and stirred at this temperature for 4 h. The batch is subsequently cooled to RT under protective gas. 5 ml of trimethyl orthoformate are added to the batch, and 2 ml of MeOH are additionally added. The mixture is heated to 50 C. and stirred at this temperature for 2 h. After cooling, the solvent is distilled and the residue is separated off via a microfilter.

The mixture is heated to 50 C. and stirred at this temperature for 2 h. After cooling, the solvent is distilled and the residue is separated off via a microfilter. The yellowish oil is dried in a high vacuum
