METHOD OF INCREASING SENSITIVITY AND LIMITS OF DETECTION AND CONTROLLING FLUID FLOW OVER SENSOR AND SENSOR ARRAY
20230045818 · 2023-02-16 ·

A process of making sensors and sensor arrays that has the ability to manipulate of the morphology or flow of an applied drop or sample over the sensor array surface at any point in the patterning process and sensors and sensor arrays having increased sensitivity and limits of detection. In addition, said process can provided real time notification of any centerline deviation. Such production process can be adjusted in real time. Thus, large numbers of units can be made—even in millions of per day—with few if any out of specification units being produced. Such process does not require large-scale clean rooms and is easily configurable.

Arrays and methods of manufacture

The invention relates to a microarray structure that may include a substrate material layer, a continuous three-dimensional (3D) surface layer on the substrate material layer that is capable of functionalisation for use as an array, and an inert material. The structure may include accurately defined and functionalisable isolated areas which are millimeter to nanometer in size. The functionalisable areas may be part of the continuous 3D surface layer and may be isolated by the inert material but interconnected within the structure by the continuous 3D surface layer.

MICROBIOME OPTIMIZATION

The present disclosure provides compositions and methods for acidic compositions for use in optimizing the genital microbiome of a user or sexual partners of that user. The compositions may comprise a prebiotic oligosaccharide, a metal co-factor, and an essential oil comprising bornyl acetate. The compositions support the genital microbiota and are useful for, for example, hydrating, lubricating, cleaning, and/or decreasing irritation or inflammation of the urogenital and/or anogenital region of a subject, and/or enhancing the beneficial genital microbiota of a subject. Such compositions are useful before, during, and/or after sexual and/or reproductive activity. Furthermore, the compositions may have minimal or beneficial effect on gametes.

Electrochemical sensor for detection and quantification of heavy metals

Electrochemical sensors useful for detection of heavy metals are described. The electrochemical sensors can be made by forming a layer of graphene oxide on a working electrode, forming a layer of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on the layer of graphene oxide, and forming a layer of gold nanostars on the layer of CNTs.

Improved methods of manufacturing highly sensitive and selective electrochemical biosensors are provided. The method may comprise washing the nanowell array electrodes of the biosensors with ferricyanide, preferably potassium ferricyanide. The method may also comprise washing the electrodes of the biosensors with methylene blue (i.e., methylthioninium chloride), either in addition to the ferricyanide and/or H2SO4 washing steps, or without the ferricyanide and/or H.sub.2SO.sub.4 washing steps.

Nanostructured biomimetic protein superconductive devices of making and its multiple applications thereto

A multiple functioning superconductive device was invented based on Toroidal Josephson Junction (FFTJJ) array with 3D-cage structure self-assembled organo-metallic superlattice membrane. The device not only mimics the structure and function of an activated Matrix Metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) protein, but also mimics the cylinder structure of the Heat Shock Protein (HSP60) protein, that works at room temperature under a normal atmosphere, and without external electromagnetic power applied. The device enabled direct rapid real-time monitoring atto-molarity concentration ATP in biological specimens and was able to define the anti-inflammatory and pro-inflammatory status revealed a transitional range of ATP concentration under antibody-free, tracer-free and label-free conditions.
