VARIABLE-SIZED SEAT BACK FOR A VEHICLE SEAT
An occupant support adapted for use in a vehicle includes a seat bottom coupled to a floor of the vehicle and a seat back configured to pivot about a seat-back pivot axis relative to the seat bottom between an upright position and a folded-forward position. The occupant support further includes an upper-back support system configured to support an upper back of an occupant of the occupant support.
Air bag and vehicle seat device
An air bag includes a bag portion formed by bonding two sheet members together. The bag portion includes an expansion portion including an annular joining portion extending in an annular shape, and a passage portion including a pair of parallel linear joining portions and connected to the expansion portion. Air filled in the bag portion flows through an internal space of the expansion portion surrounded by the annular joining portion and a passage sandwiched between the linear joining portions defining the passage portion. At a connection portion between the expansion portion and the passage portion, the linear joining portions extend in parallel, or the linear joining portions extend so as to expand toward a deep side of the passage from an opening position of the passage with respect to the internal space of the expansion portion.
VEHICLE SEAT
A motor vehicle seat having a backrest and a seat part, at least one flexible, fluid-fillable hollow body attached to the seat part or the backrest, and at least two chambers that are in fluid communication with one another. The chambers are arranged one on top of the other and have in their walls corresponding passages which enable a fluid exchange between the chambers. The chambers are firmly connected to one another in the region of the passages, wherein the volume of the lowermost chamber adjacent to the seat part or the backrest is the largest and the volume of each additional chamber is smaller compared with the volume of the chamber below it. The chambers are arranged one on top of the other such that the maximum lift of the fluid-fillable hollow body when it is being filled with fluid is outside the center of the lowermost chamber.
Lumbar support assembly
Proposed is a lumbar support assembly having an air bladder and components for operating the air bladder and facilitating the assembly and maintenance thereof. The lumbar support assembly includes: a suspension mat having a first hole formed at the inner side thereof, and having a second hole formed at one edge thereof; an air bladder having a first clip hole, which is formed at one edge thereof and overlaps with the first hole; a pouch including a pump and having a second clip hole, which is formed at one edge thereof and overlaps with the second hole; a fixing clip that can be mounted in the first clip hole or the second clip hole; and an electronic valve which has a first tube connected to the air bladder and a second tube connected to the pump and which is coupled to the rear surface of the suspension mat.
BALANCING PRESSURE BEARING APPARATUS
A balancing pressure bearing apparatus including a connecting base and bearing components is provided. Inside the connecting base is any material selected from a volume-incompressibe fluid, semifluid and elastic element, and arranged thereabove is each bearing component. The bearing components have bearing surfaces for supporting any pressing-down human body part and pressure reduction. When the connecting base is pressed down, a Pascal phenomenon is generated for a pressure applied to the fluid, semifluid or elastic element inside the connecting base to be transmitted equally in all directions. Each portion thereof has the same pressure for balancing pressure of the supportive bearing surfaces pressed by any two human body parts, thereby reducing and balancing pressures thereon to achieve a more comfortable contact sensation of pressure release and a correct posture effect. Hence, the invention can serve as a cushion, seat, backrest, mattress or pillow product.
Easy chair with exercise and health benefits
A seating apparatus cushioned for providing comfortable seating of a body for living room, office and other seating environments. The seating apparatus includes a frame for a seat, a back component, arms and legs and includes one or more supports fixed with respect to the frame and extending from the seating apparatus to provide stationary anchors for use by the body in exercising and for ingress and egress from the seating apparatus.
SEAT SUPPORT LAYER ASSEMBLY
A seat back assembly and method of manufacture is provided. The seat back includes a foam cushion layer. A support sub-assembly is formed including a rigid support layer with a plurality of cavities and channels defined on a rear surface for receiving components and a generally smooth front surface. At least one component is retained in one of the cavities and a second component is secured on the front surface of the support layer. A trim material covers the cushion layer and secures the sub-assembly to the seat back.
Posture Detection and Correction Cushion
A method of detecting and correcting a user's posture through use of a mobile posture-detection cushion for a chair or any other seating apparatus. The cushion contains individual support modules that actively monitor a user's current seated position and adjust the user to attain an optimum sitting posture in response to individual pressure sensors within the cushion, and provides user-specific feedback to each individual user over a period of time of use of the cushion.
Posture adjusting device
A posture adjusting device includes a support member with a pressure receiving surface to be pressed by a body of a user, multiple posture adjusting members each configured to change an uneven state of the pressure receiving surface, a sensor configured to output, when a given posture adjusting member is pressed by the body via the pressure receiving surface, a resistance value that constantly varies in accordance with a magnitude of a press force that is transferred via the given posture adjusting member, a drive unit configured to independently drive each of the multiple posture adjusting members, and a control unit configured to identify the pressed posture adjusting member based on the output of the sensor, and to control the drive unit to cause the pressed posture adjusting member to be moved or deformed to thereby cause the uneven state of the pressure receiving surface to change.
Adjustable bed apparatus and methods incorporating lumbar and neck supports
The disclosure generally relates to an adjustable bed apparatus, in particular an adjustable bed foundation. The adjustable foundation includes independently adjustable lumbar and/or neck support structures on an adjustable back/head section of the adjustable bed foundation. In some embodiments, the lumbar and neck support structures include inflatable air bladder structures. In other embodiments, the lumbar and neck support structures include mechanically actuatable subsections of the adjustable back/head section of the adjustable bed foundation.
