ROULETTE WHEEL READING APPARATUS
A roulette wheel reading apparatus is provided for triangulating a roulette ball position in a pocket of a roulette wheel. The apparatus comprises: a triangulation sensor, a roulette wheel position sensor, and a processor; wherein the triangulation sensor comprises: a first signal emitter arranged to emit a first signal toward a location within a pocket of a roulette wheel comprising a plurality of roulette wheel pockets; and a second signal emitter arranged to emit a second signal toward the location; wherein the triangulation sensor further comprises: a signal receiver positioned to receive a first reflection of the first signal at a first receipt time and arranged to output the first receipt time, the signal receiver being further positioned to receive a second reflection of the second signal at a second receipt time and arranged to output the second receipt time; wherein the first reflection and the second reflection originate from said roulette ball; the roulette wheel position sensor being arranged to detect and output a position of one or more of the plurality of roulette wheel pockets relative to the location; the processor being arranged to: receive the first receipt time, the second receipt time and the position; calculate a time difference between the first receipt time and the second receipt time; identify that the time difference is within a predetermined time difference threshold; identify, using the position, the pocket of the roulette wheel; and output the pocket of the roulette wheel as a roulette result. The apparatus of the present invention aims to accurately and reliably identify cessation of a roulette ball in a roulette wheel pocket for the purpose of informing the reporting of a winning roulette result.
Systems and methods for detecting light signatures and performing actions in response thereto
There is provided systems and methods for performing actions based on light signatures. An exemplary system includes a light source, a light detector, a non-transitory memory storing a plurality of light signatures and a hardware processor. The hardware processor executes an executable code to illuminate, using the light source, a target object with a first light, collect, using the light detector, a second light being a reflection of the first light by the target object, match the second light with one of the plurality of light signatures, and perform an action in response to matching the second light with the one of the plurality of light signatures.
Pinball Tracking System
An entertainment device typically described as a pinball machine, usually found in myriad places such as arcades, restaurants, private residences, etc. A conventional pinball machine allows one or more players to play a game in which points are accrued by physically striking one or more balls on an inclined play field within a cabinet having a transparent top surface. Interaction of the machine with the ball is typically limited to events when the ball strikes an object on the play field. To enable more machine-ball interaction and therefore increase entertainment value ball tracking is needed. A way to track the ball in a very fast manner to better enable open space interactivity while not having excessive cost and while not limiting the game designer.
Apparatus and method for detecting a won prize in a claw machine
A claw machine includes a chute and a sensor for detecting a won prize dropped to the chute. The sensor includes infrared units, a comparator, a calculating and judging unit, an actuating unit, an indicator, a controller, an integrated circuit board and a casing. Each of the infrared units includes an infrared transmitter for emitting an incident infrared beam with a carrier wave at a predetermined frequency and an infrared receiver for receiving a reflected infrared beam at the predetermined frequency. The controller instructs, controls, commands and manages the infrared units, the comparator, the calculating and judging unit, the actuating unit and the indicator. The infrared units, the comparator, the calculating and judging unit, the actuating unit and the indicator are supported on the integrated circuit board. The casing contains the integrated circuit board. The casing, which contains the integrated circuit board, is supported on a wall of the chute.
Systems and Methods for Detecting Light Signatures and Performing Actions in Response Thereto
There is provided systems and methods for performing actions based on light signatures. An exemplary system includes a light source, a light detector, a non-transitory memory storing a plurality of light signatures and a hardware processor. Apparatus, system and method for sensing a state of a cubic puzzle
According to another aspect, a method of determining a current state of a cubic puzzle independent of information concerning a prior state of the cubic puzzle using at least one RGB sensor. With the cubic puzzle maintained in a first state, (a) illuminating a first colored surface selected from the plurality of colored surfaces with a single source of light selected from the plurality of sources of light because of an association with the first colored surface and sensing a color of the first colored surface with the RGB sensor when the first colored surface is illuminated. Repeating act (a) by separately illuminating each of the plurality of colored surfaces with a respective single source of light selected from the plurality of sources of light because of an association between the respective single source of light and the respective colored surface that is being illuminated, and act of processing the colors sensed by the RGB sensor at each of the preceding acts to determine a location and orientation of each of the plurality of tiles with the cubic puzzle in the first state.
Method and device for presenting and playing a card-type game
In a method of presenting a game, a player places a game play wager and one or more optional bonus bets, such as via an input receiving device of a gaming table. Seven cards are dealt to each player and a dealer. The player and dealer attempt to form a highest ranking Straight, Flush or Straight Flush hand. The outcome of the player's game play wager is determined with reference to a rank of the dealer's hand or the player's hand as compared to the dealer's hand. The optional bonus bets are resolved with reference to the rank of the player's hand. Awards for winning game play wagers or bonus bets may be awarded in accordance with a pay table or via a wheel spin or other award selection event which is initiated by the player, such as to the input receiving device.
CARD-HANDLING DEVICES WITH DEFECT DETECTION AND RELATED METHODS
Card-handling devices may include an input area sized and shaped to receive cards and an output area for outputting at least some of the cards. A defect detection system may be located along a card path downstream from the input area. The defect detection system may be configured to scan at least one card to determine whether at least one characteristic of the at least one card has been modified beyond a predetermined limit or whether the at least one characteristic of the at least one card is within the predetermined limit. A diverter may be configured to divert the at least one card from the card path when the at least one characteristic of the at least one card has been modified beyond the predetermined limit and enable the at least one card to continue on the card path when the at least one characteristic of the at least one card is within the predetermined limit.
