MITER SAW
A miter saw includes a base assembly configured to at least partially support a workpiece on the miter saw. The miter saw also includes a turntable pivotably coupled to the base assembly about a vertical miter axis in a first rotational direction and a second rotational direction opposite the first rotational direction. The turntable is also configured to at least partially support the workpiece on the miter saw. The miter saw also includes a constraining device coupled between the base assembly and the turntable. The constraining device is configured to inhibit movement of the turntable relative to the base assembly in a direction different than the first and second rotational directions.
MITER SAW
A miter saw has a base having a detent notch, a table rotatably connectable to the base, a pivoting assembly connected to the table, and a saw assembly supported by the pivoting assembly. The saw assembly has a blade movable downwardly for a cutting operation. A locking mechanism is disposed on the table. The locking mechanism is movable between an unlocked position and a locked position for selectively unlocking and locking the table for rotational movement relative to the base about the miter axis. The locking mechanism has a lock lever rotatably connected to the table. The lock lever has a handle for moving locking mechanism between the locked and unlocked positions. The saw also has a miter detent assembly for selectively engaging and disengaging the detent notch.
Articulated Mast Section for Chop Saws
An articulated chop saw mast section (30) replaces a rigid prior art mast section (22) between a chop saw base (20) and a chop saw swing arm assembly (23′). The articulation of mast section (30) provides a front-to-rear longitudinal movement of the swing arm assembly (23′) along an axis that is parallel to the longitudinal axis of a chop saw cutting wheel (26), ultimately providing front-to-rear movement of the cutting wheel (26) along its longitudinal axis. The movement of wheel (26) in this fashion provides a means for optimum adjustment to the geometric relationship between wheel (26) and the material to be cut. The ability of the articulated mast to achieve optimum cutting geometry offers greater cutting efficiency by reducing the point or points of contact between wheel (26) and the material's specific profile.
Cutting device with integrated and interruptible auxiliary power supply
An improved cutting device with an integrated and interruptible auxiliary power supply. In a preferred embodiment, the improved cutting device is a miter saw having a trigger mechanism for controlling a cutting implement, and at least one 120V or 240V auxiliary power outlet. Electrical power is only provided to the cutting implement and the auxiliary power outlet when the triggering or a similar mechanism is activated, and the release of the triggering mechanism by the user automatically shuts off electrical power to both the cutting implement and the at least one auxiliary power outlet. The auxiliary power outlet is useful for powering any number of different accessories including, without limitation, a light, vacuum source, etc., and is repositionable.
Tabletop cutting machine
An easily operable, highly durable cutting machine finely adjusts the miter angle of a turntable. A cutting machine includes a turntable supported in a manner rotatable horizontally to a base and including a substantially disk-shaped table body to receive a workpiece and a table extension protruding forward from the table body, a cutting machine body located above the turntable and connected in a manner swingable vertically to the turntable, and a fine angle adjuster that adjusts a rotation angle of the turntable with respect to the base and including a rack on the base, a pinion located in the table body within an area of the table body as viewed from above and engageable with the rack directly or indirectly, and an operation part operable to rotate the pinion.
SAW SLIDE DEVICE
A sliding compound miter saw slide device allows a user to easily and accurately move a saw for proper alignment with a cutting material or workpiece. The sliding saw slide device integrates an adjustment or alignment mechanism configured to move an upper base portion of the saw base relative to a lower base portion of the saw base. In addition, a sliding saw stand allows a user to easily and accurately move a saw for proper alignment with a cutting material or workpiece. The sliding saw stand integrates an adjustment or alignment mechanism configured to move an upper miter saw mount member/plate relative to the saw stand base/base frame.
TABLETOP CUTTING DEVICE
Two 18V-type rechargeable batteries (31 and 31) are attached in series so as to allow a 36V-type tabletop cutting device (C1) to be utilized. By utilizing the 18V batteries which are highly prevalent for electric tools, it is possible to use the 36V-type tabletop cutting device (C1) as well as to reduce costs for the batteries.
MITER SAW
A miter saw includes a base assembly and a saw unit pivotably coupled to the base assembly. The saw unit includes a saw blade and a lower blade guard covering a lower portion of the saw blade. The miter saw also includes a linkage for raising the lower blade guard to expose the lower portion of the saw blade as the saw unit is lowered toward the base assembly. The linkage is operable to apply a force to the lower blade guard for holding the lower blade guard in a raised position, without any input from the operator of the miter saw and without changing the length of the linkage, to facilitate changing the saw blade.
