A protective canopy includes a canopy body, which is switchable between a first position and a second position, a canopy base, a first linkage and a second linkage for connecting the canopy body to the canopy base, each of the first linkage and the second linkage is pivotally connected to both the canopy body and the canopy base, respectively, and pivot axes formed at the pivoting connection positions between each of the first and second linkage and each of the canopy body and the canopy base are parallel to each other, such that the canopy body is switchable relative to the canopy base between the first position and the second position by manipulating the first and/or second linkages and/or the canopy body. An earth working machine having such protective canopy and a method for changing position of a protective canopy of earth working machine are also disclosed.

A top of a convertible vehicle having a top linkage which can be displaced between a closed position, in which the top covers a vehicle interior, and a storage position, in which the vehicle interior is uncovered, and which has a linkage arrangement on either side of a vertical longitudinal center plane of the top, each linkage arrangement having a link and a cable guide disposed on the link and serving to guide a tensioning cable. The cable guide may have two shells defining a passage opening and being in contact with the link from opposite sides.

A vehicle comprising: an occupant cabin; a retractable roof configured to move between a deployed configuration where the roof covers the occupant cabin and a retracted configuration; a housing configured to house the retractable roof when the roof is in the retracted configuration; a moveable cover configured to close the housing and move between a closed configuration where the moveable cover closes the housing and an open configuration to permit the retractable roof to move between the deployed configuration and the retracted configuration; a first electric motor coupled to the retractable roof to be capable of imparting motion to the retractable roof so that, when the first electric motor is activated, the first electric motor causes the retractable roof to move between the deployed configuration and the retracted configuration; a second electric motor coupled to the moveable cover to be capable of imparting motion to the movable cover so that, when the second electric motor is activated, the second electric motor causes the moveable cover to move between the closed configuration and the open configuration; and a control unit configured to control the activation of the first and second electric motors so that, during the movement of the retractable roof between the deployed configuration and the retracted configuration, the moveable cover moves partially simultaneously, with the retractable roof, between the closed configuration and open configuration.

A vehicle comprising: a passenger compartment; a roof moveable between a first, closed position in which it covers at least part of the passenger compartment and a second, stowed position in which it does not cover the passenger compartment; and a floor located so as to face the underside of the roof when the roof is in the stowed position, the floor being adapted to define a luggage space between it and the roof when the roof is in the stowed position.

The invention relates to a top for a convertible vehicle, comprising a top cover and a top linkage which is displaceable between a covering position, in which a vehicle interior is covered, and a storage position, in which the vehicle interior is uncovered, and which comprises a link assembly on either side of a vertical longitudinal center plane of the vehicle, each link assembly being pivotably mounted on a vehicle-attached main bearing and securable in at least two positions of the top linkage by means of a locking device comprising a lock element disposed on a first link of the link assembly, a first lock counterelement, and a second vehicle-attached lock counterelement. The first lock counterelement of each locking device is disposed on a second link of the respective link assembly.

A top for a convertible vehicle, having a top cover and a top linkage which can be displaced between a covering position, in which a vehicle interior is covered, and a storage position, in which the vehicle interior is open at the top, and which may have, on either side of a vertical longitudinal center plane of the top, a link assembly having a four-bar linkage comprising a first main link, a second main link, and a coupling link, the first main link and the second main link each being pivotably mounted on a vehicle-attached main bearing, and a front bow which fixes the top to a front header of the vehicle in the covering position extending between the two link assemblies. The front bow is rigidly attached to the first main link of the respective four-bar assembly on either side.

A top for a convertible vehicle, having a top cover and a top linkage which can be displaced between a covering position and a storage position, in which the vehicle interior is open at the top, and which may have a link assembly on either side of a vertical longitudinal center plane of the top, the top linkage having a corner bow which extends in the transverse direction of the vehicle and which defines an area of transition of the top cover between a roof portion and a rear portion when the top linkage is in the covering position. When the top linkage is in the covering position, the corner bow is secured against pivoting by means of at least one blocking element disposed on a pivoting part of the top linkage and can be displaced from the covering position into a loading position by displacing the pivoting part.

A top of a convertible vehicle having a top linkage which can be displaced between a closed position, in which the top covers a vehicle interior, and a storage position, in which the vehicle interior is uncovered, and which has a linkage arrangement on either side of a vertical longitudinal center plane of the top, each linkage arrangement having a link and a cable guide disposed on the link and serving to guide a tensioning cable. An earth working machine (10), for example a road milling machine (10), recycler, stabilizer, or surface miner, having a propelling unit (22) and a machine frame (12); the earth working machine (10) comprising a working apparatus (32) for earth working; and an operator's platform (24), having an operator's platform floor (64) and having at least one operating device (26), being provided on the machine frame (12); the earth working machine (10) comprising a protective canopy (44) liftable and lowerable relative to the operator's platform floor (64) between a lifted operating position and a lowered transport position; the earth working machine (10) comprising a panel arrangement (46) having an upper edge (46a) located closer to the protective canopy (44), having a lower edge (46b) located farther from the protective canopy (44) at a distance from the upper edge (46a), and having two side edges (46c, 46d) spanning the distance between the upper And the lower edge (46a, 46b); the panel arrangement (46) being connected in an upper connecting region (58), located closer to its upper edge (46a) than to its lower edge (46b), to the protective canopy (44) and being connected in a lower connecting region (60), located closer to its lower edge (46b) than to its upper edge (46a), to the machine frame (12) and/or to the operator's platform floor (64) constituting a connecting base. Provision is made according to the present invention that the panel arrangement (46) is liftable and lowerable together with the protective canopy (44), the panel arrangement (46) being received on the earth working machine (10) with its lower edge (46b) movably toward and away from the operator's platform floor (64).
