The hinge portion is having a pivot axis (A.sub.P) about which the lid portion is pivotally movable. The pivot axis A.sub.P is located between the first plane (P.sub.1) and the second axial end (106) of the neck portion. The invention also relates to an assembly comprising a paper or paperboard-based package (50) and such a closure device (1).
Reusable pour spout system and method
A reusable pour spout system that may be attached to different container types to dispense different substances, including course and fine granular materials and liquids. A port component has a proximal tubular end and a flange that is larger than the tubular end. The flange further includes a hole-cutting structure adapted to pierce the wall of a container, with a cutting edge adapted to form a hole in the container when the port component is rotated by a user after piercing. This positions the flange within the container with the tubular end exposed to receive a nut that traps the wall of the container between the nut and the flange. A cap is provided to seal off the port. The tubular end of the port component, the nut, and the cap may all be threaded. Different structures to enhance cutting and sealing are disclosed along with preferred method steps.
Paper-based or paperboard-based container and related methods
A paper-based or paperboard-based container (100) for holding a pourable food product is described, the container comprising: a substantially planar bottom portion; a top portion arranged opposite the bottom portion and comprising a top panel and a top sealing region (126) forming a top seal of the container; and a wall portion extending between the bottom portion and the top portion and comprising a plurality of wall sections (108b, 108c) bordering the top panel and a longitudinal sealing band (14) extending between the bottom portion and the top portion and over at least one of the wall sections, wherein the top sealing region is folded onto said at least one of the wall sections comprising the longitudinal sealing band (14) and being attached thereto. A blank and a sleeve for producing the container is also described, as is a method for producing the container.
Resealable Pouring Element for Cardboard/Plastic Composite Packages With a Tamper-Evident Seal to Indicate the Initial Opening
Represented and described is a resealable pouring element for cardboard/plastic composite packages, in particular beverage packages, with a base element having a circumferential fastening flange as well as an external thread, with opening means arranged at least in the unopened state of the pouring element in the interior of the base element and with a screw cap with internal thread, wherein the opening means are designed such that when the composite package is initially opened by unscrewing the screw cap by breaking the composite material of the package or a barrier layer located in the base element, a pour opening is created inside the pouring element and wherein at least one tamper-evident seal is arranged between the base element and the screw cap. In order to reduce the assembly effort for such a resealable pouring element, it is provided that an anchor ring is arranged below the screw cap and is connected to the screw cap via a hinge a rotationally fixed manner and in that the tamper-evident seal consists of an indicating element, whose one end is fixedly connected to the anchor ring or the screw cap and in which the other end is connected to the anchor ring by means of a predetermined breaking point in such manner that the predetermined breaking point of at least one mandrel element arranged on the fastening flange is broken when the screw cap is unscrewed and thus indicates to the consumer that an initial opening has already taken place.
CLOSURE DEVICE FOR ASEPTIC LIQUID CONTAINING CONTAINERS
The present invention relates to a closure device for aseptic paper or paper-based containers which can be used for storing liquid products. In particular, the present invention relates to a closure device comprising three parts. It has a pour spout which can be fixed to an outer surface of the container, a cap having a re-sealable lid portion being permanently connected to a retainment portion via a hinge and a barrier breaking device moveably attached to the pour spout and configured to break a liquid tight seal of the paper or paper-based container upon twisting said cap. The invention also relates to an assembly comprising a container and said closure device and a method for providing the assembly.
Tethered Cap and Spout
Disclosed herein are tethered cap and spout combinations. The tethered cap and spout combinations prevent loss of the cap after opening. In an implementation, the tethered cap and spout combinations may provide mechanisms for puncturing or opening a seal that may be present at a throat or neck of the container which provides both an anti-tampering and freshness function. In an implementation, the tethered cap and spout combinations may provide anti-tampering mechanisms. In an implementation, the tethered cap and spout combinations may provide mechanisms to hold an opened and tethered cap away from the container opening during use.
Composite pack having a pouring element, and blank for producing such pack
A pack having an opening region provided in the top of the pack which forms a pouring opening after it is cut through by an applied pouring element, the pouring element including a base body, a cutting element arranged movably therein, and a screw cap, the screw cap being used for first opening of the pack by actuating the cutting element and for reclosure, and the opening region having a weakened line. The weakened line has a round first section and a second section. The first time the composite pack is opened by moving the cutting element, the weakened line is cut in the first section and tears in the second section.
Method and device for producing tubular bags
The invention relates to a method for producing tubular bags made from plastic film or from composite film having a plastic layer on the bag content side, having a self-cutting plastic closure attached to the tubular bag, consisting of a spout part having a fastening flange, a cutting body, which is movably guided in the spout part, and a screw cover having means for activating the cutting body. The film material (5) is supplied from a supply roll to a bag manufacturing machine and the plastic closure is sealed onto the film material in a spout region of a tubular bag. According to the invention, the film material (5) is thinned on the inside of the bag in a ring-shaped region, which is intended for cutting by the cutting body, by means of a thermal embossing process. The plastic closure is then positioned and sealed onto the film material such that the cutting organ embedded in the spout part can become effective in the thinned, ring-shaped region upon use thereof.
