RETRACTABLE PET LEASH ASSEMBLY
A retractable pet leash assembly includes a housing, a spool, a leash and a braking assembly. The spool is disposed inside the housing and biased by a spring and includes braking notches. The leash is wound about the spool. The braking assembly includes a pawl, a pawl spring and an operating member. The pawl selectively engages the braking notches, the pawl spring biases the pawl towards engagement with the spool. The operating member moves the pawl between first and second positions to move the pawl into and out of the path of the braking notches. The operating member has a pawl non-engaged position in which the pawl is in the first position, a first pawl engaged position in which the pawl is in the second position, and a second pawl engaged position in which the operating member is retained while the pawl is in the second position.
RETRACTABLE TOOL LANYARD
A retractable tool lanyard comprises a housing, a drum rotatably connected to the housing, a biasing member interconnecting the housing and the drum, a cord operatively connected to the drum and adapted to be wound about and paid out from the drum, and an engaging mechanism. The engaging mechanism comprises a locking plate connected to the drum, at least one lock pawl connected to the locking plate, and a ratchet plate. When the drum rotates at a predetermined speed, the at least one lock pawl pivots from an unlocked position to a locked position to engage the ratchet plate thereby rotating the ratchet plate with the drum. At least one of a braking mechanism and a clicker pawl are used to create friction to assist in reducing a rate of rotation of the drum.
Fishing reel and arm system
Fishing reel system embodiments herein include an extendable arm assembly and a reel assembly rotatably attached thereto. Certain reel assembly embodiments include an adjustable drag washer stack that can be adjustably compressed to adjust the amount of friction within the washer stack. Other implementations include solely a reel assembly with such an adjustable drag washer stack.

SAFETY CONTROL TAKE-UP FASTENING APPLIANCE
The invention discloses a safety control take-up fastening appliance, comprising a base; the base is composed of a base bottom plate and base side plates; the front of the base is provided with a long webbing, a front cover, a movable pendulum block and a guide shaft; the middle is provided with ratchets, a connecting sleeve and a volute spring; the rear is provided with a first pawl, a handle and a short webbing. The invention can be used in the field of multiple types of logistics, which can effectively provide restraints for articles or goods and ensure stable transportation. The safety is far higher than that of the old-fashioned fastening appliance, which can effectively prevent the rapid retraction of the webbing from causing accidental injury to surrounding personnel or objects. At the same time, the connector can be loaded through the appliance connecting hole for easy installation and use.
Automatic spool tensioning mechanism
Systems (100) and methods (1400) for operating a Spool Mechanism (SM). The methods comprise: transitioning an operational mode of SM from a first operational mode in which a drag torque is not settable to a second operational mode in which the drag torque is settable; selectively mechanically coupling a rewind motor to a spool (612) of SM by engaging a coupler (1014) in response to the SM's transition into the second operational mode; activating the rewind motor (610) such that the rewind motor applies a motor torque having a pre-defined value selected for facilitating a setting of the drag torque to an optimal value; mechanically gradually adjusting an amount of drag resistance applied to the spool by a drag mechanism (1012); and discontinuing the mechanical adjustment of the drag resistance when the spool's speed is within a threshold percentage range of a zero resistance speed.
Quick-adjust tensioner
Quick-adjust tensioner that exerts a braking torque on a spool. The tensioner includes a stop configured to fit onto a rod supporting the spool. The location of the stop on the rod is adjustable by the user. The stop is connected to a foot by a biasing member. The biasing member presses the foot against the spool to create a braking torque on the spool. The force of the biasing member on the foot is predetermined by adjusting the distance between the stop and the foot, thereby adjusting the foot's braking torque on the spool.
