APPARATUS FOR THERMAL INSULATION ON AN ACTUATING APPARATUS FOR DISK BRAKES
An apparatus for thermal insulation on an actuating apparatus, which can be loaded with a pressure medium, of a disk brake having a piston which slides in a cylinder for the axial displacement of the brake linings against a brake disk, in particular a partially lined disk brake having an insulation body made from non-thermally conducting/poorly thermally conducting material for the insulation of the components of the actuating apparatus with respect to a brake lining. It is possible for a substantially circularly annular, metallic brake lining to be inserted into an insulation body which is made from ceramic material and separates the piston from the brake lining in a thermally insulating manner. The insulation body is configured with side faces which adjoin the circularly annular brake contact face so as to run toward the annular circumferential face in a convexly rounded manner in the direction of the piston.
Retainer for segmented annular heat shield
A wheel assembly includes an inboard wheel portion having a rim and a disk. A radially inward surface of the rim and an inboard surface of the disk define a wheel well cavity configured to house a brake assembly. The wheel assembly also includes a torque bar (e.g., a torque bar of the brake assembly) mounted to the inboard wheel portion. Further, the wheel assembly includes a retainer coupled to the torque bar and disposed radially between the torque bar and the radially inward surface of the rim of the inboard wheel portion. The retainer includes a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and a body extending between the first end and the second end. The body includes opposing longitudinal sides configured to respectively engage and retain a respective heat shield segment of a segmented annular heat shield.
Fastener migration limiting feature
A retaining clip for constraining a heat shield for use with an aircraft wheel assembly. The retaining clip includes a first end and a second end axially opposite the first end, the first end being opposite the second end along a longitudinal axis. The retaining clip further includes a first side and a second side each having a curvature forming a U-shaped cross section such that an outer edge of each of the first side and the second side extends back towards the longitudinal axis. The retaining clip further includes a migration stop defined by the first side at the first end, the migration stop extending past the outer edge of the second side and configured to interface with hooks of the heat shield to resist axial movement of the retaining clip relative to the heat shield.
MULTIPLE DISK BRAKE FOR A ROTATABLE ELEMENT
An interconnected multiple disk brake for a rotatable element with an integrated sensor which is based on the rotation of a sensor disk.
REINFORCED TORQUE TUBES
Torque tubes with better total failure performance is provided. The torque tube comprises a plurality of reinforcement members made from a second material with a higher temperature strength than the first material. In preferred embodiments, the reinforcement members are tungsten rods. The reinforcement members are located concentrically around a central axis of the torque tube and each reinforcement member spans a center line of a central tube of the torque tube and spans a majority of a longitudinal length of the torque tube. In preferred embodiments, the reinforcement members are drive keys.
Segmented heat shield with reduced interlayer thermal conduction
A heat shield assembly is disclosed. In various embodiments, the heat shield assembly defines a first circumferential side and a second circumferential side and an inboard end and an outboard end and includes a first layer defining a first surface of the heat shield assembly and having a first tab member disposed proximate the inboard end at the first circumferential side and a second tab member disposed proximate the outboard end at the first circumferential side; and a second layer defining a second surface of the heat shield assembly and having one or more first crimped portions extending along the first circumferential side and configured to engage the first tab member and the second tab member.
HEAT SHIELD PANEL CONNECTOR
An attachment assembly for connection two panels of a heat shield assembly, the attachment assembly comprising: a first attachment feature to be provided, in use, extending from a first edge of a first panel of the heat shield and a second attachment feature to be provided, in use, on and to extend from a second edge of a second panel to be attached to the first panel; wherein the first attachment feature comprises a tab portion extending from a first end attached, in use to the first edge of the first panel, a bend at the other end of the tab portion, and a hook portion extending from the bend in a direction generally circumferentially towards the first end but at an angle to the tab portion.
HEAT SHIELD ASSEMBLY FOR WHEEL
A heat shield assembly for a vehicle wheel, comprising a single tubular heat shield panel or a plurality of heat sectional panel sections arranged to be connected to one another to form a tubular heat shield panel, the panel have an inner diameter surface and an outer diameter surface, the outer diameter surface arranged to be positioned, in use, adjacent to and spaced apart from an inner diameter surface of a wheel, and wherein the panel or each panel section is provided with one or more ridges extending in the circumferential direction, and wherein one or more wires is provided in one or more of the ridges.
HEAT SHIELD PANEL ATTACHMENT BRACKET
An attachment bracket for fastening a heat shield panel of a wheel assembly to a radially inner surface of a wheel, the bracket having an essentially Z-shaped structure comprising an attachment part defining two inner contact surfaces in a first plane each shaped to form, in use, a surface contact with the radially outer surface of the heat shield panel, and a wheel connector part defining an outer contact surface in a second plane arranged to form, in use, a surface contact with the wheel when the heat shield panel is located in position relative to the wheel, where the first and second planes are essentially parallel but spaced apart in the axial direction of the wheel, and a sloping connector part extending from the first plane to the second plane connecting a first end of the attachment part to a first end of the wheel connector part.
BRAKE DEVICE FOR A VEHICLE, AND VEHICLE WITH BRAKE DEVICE
A brake device for a vehicle with at least one wheel, wherein the wheel defines a rotational axis, with a brake body device for the transmission of a brake force to the wheel, with a concentric brake cylinder for the generation of the brake force. The brake cylinder has an inner housing part for radial support on a wheel axle of the wheel and an outer housing part for axial support on the brake body device.
