IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND IMAGE READING METHOD
An image reading apparatus executes a calibration processing of calibrating a reading unit when a medium detection sensor detects that a medium is present. The image reading apparatus executes the calibration processing each time a first time-period elapses in a state where the medium detection sensor detects that the medium is present after the calibration processing. When a start instruction of reading the medium is received, the image reading apparatus starts transport of the medium and causes the reading unit to read the medium on a basis of calibration information of a last calibration processing.
Image reading apparatus and control method to perform a determination of whether a medium overlaps another medium based on the light quantity being above or below a threshold after changing the light quantity from a first light quantity to a second light quantity
When a medium detector detects that a state where a medium is absent is switched to a state where the medium is present with a light quantity of the medium detector set to a first light quantity, a controller in an image reading apparatus switches the light quantity from the first light quantity to a second light quantity, which is larger than the first light quantity. When a quantity of the light received by the medium detector exceeds a threshold, the controller determines whether the media overlaps each other, based on the detection result of the multi-feed detector. When the quantity of the light received does not exceed the threshold, the controller skips the determination of whether the media overlaps each other.
Information processing apparatus for managing sheet information according to presence or absence of a sheet
An information processing apparatus, to communicate with an image forming apparatus having a predetermined sheet feeding unit, includes a selection unit and a setting unit. The selection unit selects one storage method at least from among a first and second sheet information storage method. The setting unit executes a setting, based on the selected one storage method, for the predetermined sheet feeding unit. In the first sheet information storage method and after the sheet information is set for the predetermined sheet feeding unit, the setting of the sheet information is not cancelled when an absence of a sheet on the predetermined sheet feeding unit is detected. In the second sheet information storage method and after the sheet information is set for the predetermined sheet feeding unit, the setting of the sheet information is cancelled when an absence of a sheet on the predetermined sheet feeding unit is detected.
Document conveyance apparatus, image reading apparatus, and image forming apparatus
A document conveyance apparatus includes a loading portion having a loading surface for a document, a rotating member, a detection unit, a feeding roller, and a support portion. The rotating member includes a front end portion protruding from the loading surface and rotates about a rotary shaft by being in contact with the loaded document. The detection unit detects rotation of the rotating member and detects presence or absence of the loaded document. The feeding roller feeds the document by being in contact with the document loaded on the loading surface. The support portion rotatably supports the rotary shaft. When the rotary shaft is viewed from an axial direction, the rotary shaft includes a recessed portion recessed from an outer periphery section of the rotary shaft toward a shaft center of the rotary shaft. The support portion is in contact with the recessed portion to rotatably support the rotating member.
Image reading apparatus capable of determining whether missing part of document image occurs based on edge shape of at least one of leading and trailing edges of document image
An image reading apparatus includes an image reading device and a control device. The image reading device performs image reading of an original document to generate a read image. The control device includes a processor and functions, through the processor operating in accordance with a control program, as an edge shape detector and a missing part determiner. The edge shape detector uses as a target image the read image or an image obtained by subjecting the read image to predetermined image processing and detects an edge shape of at least one of a leading edge and a trailing edge of a document image corresponding to the original document in the target image. The missing part determiner determines, based on the detected edge shape, whether or not a missing part of the document image has occurred.
Multi-sheet handling for document digitization
Systems and methods are provided for document handling. Non-vision detection systems may be capable of detecting the dimensions, orientation, and/or position of a single sheet, or multiple stacked sheets. A document scanning arrangement may be capable of double sided scanning for sheets with various characteristics. The systems and methods provided may accommodate high throughput and rapid digitization of various types of documents, at a high quality.
Image forming apparatus and non-transitory computer readable medium
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, an output unit, a light source, and a processor. The image forming unit creates a printed material by forming an image on paper. The output unit outputs the printed material to an output tray. The light source is provided such that lit light is viewable from outside the image forming apparatus. The processor is configured to receive a print job for creating the printed material by the image forming unit, and perform control such that the light source is lit in a first lighting pattern in a case where a printed material of a print job for a single user has been output to the output tray and the light source is lit in a second lighting pattern in a case where printed materials of print jobs for multiple users have been output to the output tray.
Image reading apparatus
An image reading apparatus determines an inclination amount corresponding to an inclination angle of a leading edge of an original document in a conveyance direction, and determines the length of the original document in the conveyance direction. The image reading apparatus sets a first value as a set value in a case that the length of the original document is a first length and sets a second value larger than the first value as the set value in a case that the length of the original document is a second length shorter than the first length. If the inclination amount is smaller than the set value, inclination correction for correcting the image represented by the image data is performed such that the inclination amount is reduced, and if the inclination amount is larger than the set value, the inclination correction is not performed.
