The present invention discloses a bevel swing head interpolation tool changing mechanism, which includes a bed, a sliding table, a column, a ram, a swing head and a tool magazine, in which the swing head moves along the X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis of the machine tool, the axis of the swing head and a B-axis form an included angle between 30°-60°, the tool magazine is equipped with a tool, and the swing head moves along its own axis direction and change the tool. The invention provides a bevel swing head interpolation tool changing mechanism and a method thereof, capable of quick and convenient tool changing through the mutual cooperation of the movement of the linear axes of the machine tool, without complex equipment such as manipulators used, and which is simple in structure, good in stability and easy to maintain.

The holding locations are configured to hold the tools at the receiving groove. The transfer device comprises a transfer carriage, wherein the transfer device is movable between a first transfer position in relation to the tool magazine and a second transfer position to transfer tools between the tool magazine and a tool holder of the machine tool. The linear drive is configured to move the tool magazine along the magazine axis relative to the transfer device to provide, together with the rotary drive, a selected holding location in the first transfer position.
